EdNargel
I'm rolling with a St. Mary's Alley.
Steph
Agree. I _think_ it would be an Alley Ghost? Can you confirm?
LindPW
All of these names are very interesting. At least we know it's an Alley. I got a lot of studying up to do. What would be a good book that covers a lot of makers?
Steph
American Machine-Made Marbles covers a lot of history and has a fair amount of photos. Popular American Marbles by the same authors has a lot of photographs -- was disappointing to some because of how the publisher did the photos -- yet has still received a good word recently. And Everett Grist's Big Book of Marbles, the recent edition co-authored by Lloyd Huffer, has some nice sections of marble photos identified by company. ^^ that's my off-the-cuff summary of this Mike's thread from a little while ago:http://marbleconnection.com/topic/23014-a-good-marble-book The list of names has been growing rapidly recently so they haven't all made their ways into books. (By Metzler and Johnson) I just got a copy of this book. It is a great reference book and has MANY great color pictures. 2 thumbs up!!
