Superman? Peltier?

Hi.

I do not know much about marbles, but I am planning on selling the marbles that I found on eBay. I found some marbles at an estate sale in Plainfield, IL, less than an hour from Ottawa where Peltier made marbles. These marbles were mixed into some other newer marbles that I found in various placed. I took what may be the best marbles and placed them together as seen in the images. The three or four smaller "superman color" marbles I think are just newer marbles as they were found at a St. Vincent de Paul store. That is my guess, anyways. I am wondering if the larger superman color marble, and the other two larger mables that were probably found with it, are Peltier, or not. I think the glass is folded on the superman colored marble and the silver glass like marble, but did not see any folds on the speckeled marble. Any help identifying these items would be much appreciated.

Thank you so much!
Brian

Hello Brian, Welcome to the Marble Connection. There are some vintage marbles in your groups, including a few Marble Kings, Vitros, and Peltiers. But the three you pulled out and most of the marbles you are showing are newer ones made by Vacor in Mexico.

Most of what I see is Vacor, a few newer & vintage Marble King &  Vitro w/some of what appear to be Japanese cat eyes w/ maybe one or 2 Pelts ?? No superman of any type present  :dunno: Most if not all of them with an iridescent shine are Vacor de Mexico.

Iridescent shine, Vacor has several different names for marbles of this type, according to base color and or the presence of frit along w/ the iridescent shine.

Thank you for the welcome to the site. Great job with the quick responses to my posting!

I am surprised to find that the marbles are of little to no value. I thought for sure maybe they would have had some value given the colors or sizes, etc.

I appreciate the detailed explanations, Chad. I still need to go through everything you shared.
