I shot a rat in my chicken coop with my Ralphie Red Ryder BB gun. One day, I somehow threw a shirt over it without thinking and went out to play while it was popping. Then, Mom just came home from work and found the house filled with smoke and a hole flame/burning in the shirt!! I got one hell of a spanking for that. The popcorn maker was thrown out, and I wasn't allowed to 'cook' anything until I was 16 years old. Marshmallows would have been safer because you can't walk away while roasting them.
