YasudaCollector
Since everybody has been posting their Yasuda transitionals lately, I thought I would create this thread for us all to share our Yasuda collections in. 🙂

rockgardenplants
So Christensen American Agates can't have a pinch on one pole? I've been looking at my red / white swirls and some of them have a Yasuda looking pinch. I think I have more sorting to do. Thanks for starting this thread. YasudaCollector
Sure! Unfortunately, I'm not that knowledgeable about CAC transitionals. I have seen CAC's with the characteristic diaper fold seam, but never any of the earlier handgathered marbles.
YasudaCollector
If I find a pinch pontil marble, I kind of assume it's Japanese since I've heard CAC handgathered transitionals were only produced for a very short period. In contrast, I heard Aiko say Yasuda produced pinch pontil marbles from 1933 to 1939.

The AA has a nicer finish the Yasudas also look like wrinkled fingers. 2 look a likes if you can see the seam in the Yasuda it's tough to photograph
YasudaCollector
Nice ones! (I love the background too) it makes the marbles come out really crisp. L

YasudaCollector
The gray base glass is super seedy and fizzy. I think there's some dark frit from the oven mixed into the bubbles.

This guy's funny, I looked very closely all over the marble, but I couldn't see any pontil at all. Was the pinch/crease line smoothed out in the marble making process?
