The Nickel Guy
I think I mentioned somewhere recently that I had a big marble someplace that looked like it was used for a baseball and I would look for it. Found three actually, I'd like to throw them in a rock tumbler for a month or two and see what they come out like. They of course, are total losses except for entries in the most ugly marbles contest. Makes my eyes get a little watery and I pout a bit. 2
William
No rock tumbler...they are keepers regardless. Besides, the rock tumbler will make matters worse. You would not like the results. Some folks polish these, by someone who knows what they are doing. But me, I would keep them "as is" Be Cool!👍😎 2
Alan
A rock tumbler would be no improvement. Possibly worse. 2
The Nickel Guy
Rock Tumbler is out. Thanks for the advice. I'll just wait for the ugly contest . . . and win! 1
Alan
Just an idea: Drop one in a glass of water and see how it looks. If it looks much improved, consider finding a glass cylinder whose top can be sealed and drop the (big) marble in it. Cover it with mineral oil, seal and it could make a good display piece. 3 1

The Nickel Guy
Now my wife thinks I've finally cracked up I guess but after a toothbrushing with Dawn here is at least a view of what these used to be. Poor images, but they will do for these. Now in H2O
