buypast
I am confused what the equator of a marble is. I have been told it is the middle but if the marble is turned it is no longer the middle. I am new to collecting and old and need help. Thank you
Steph
With some marbles, the ribbons easily make one think of an equator. I snipped these pictures out of another thread. If I had to take the pictures fresh, I would have turned them so that the equator ran horizontally. But I'm still going to says these have equators even though the equator is running up and down. Hope that helps. 2

Thank you I am old to marble collecting and old also--Stilll need help though😁. Welcome to "TheMarbleConnection". "Equator" is not a term that I am familiar with regarding collecting marbles. The only Marbles that seem to have an Equator are "double ingots" which are actually two marbles married. I will show two below. One is a double ingot Akro corkscrew--two in one. The next is an Akro Flintie---two in one also. Marble--On!!
I'llhavethat1
Equater of a marble is similar to an equater you'd see on a globe. Basically, a sphere at its widest distance around. 1
The Nickel Guy
That siamese twin akro is wild. These are laying around on my desk with some other dimpled and deformed mibs. These might be double ingots. I am not sure the white with blue is but the others are.
