Fire1981
Just something I take to work. Donβt yell at me or cry about the sheet of ice I just made for your hockey game. None of you are going to sighΒ a contract and play in the NHL . Thereβs no Scouts in the stands so donβt push me. Bottom line. Donβt ever get sideways with a Zamboni Operator who makes a sheet of ice for you and itβs slippery because you fall down. It would be fun to throw some white game marbles on the ice and see how the cry Babies deal with thatπ₯ RARπ€ͺ

Pretty rare imho. Marble--On!! That's the Vaseline glass that Alan identified. I shinned a black light at it during the day. It's yellowish looking clear glass. I bought it from an antique shop called "Inkspotantiques.com" They have other marbles including a pretty purple Popeye.Β "In 1943, production of vaseline glass was stoppedΒ due to the implementation of heavy regulations on the use of uranium. It wasn't until 1958 that uranium was deregulated and the production of vaseline glass resumed, this time using depleted uranium instead."
Chad G.
Strategic Resource:Β Uranium was deemed a strategic resource vital for the war effort, particularly for the development of nuclear weapons (the Manhattan Project). The U.S. government took control of uranium supplies, effectively preventing its use in commercial products like Vaseline glass. Security Concerns:Β The increasing awareness of radiation's potential health risks and the public's heightened fear of radiation after the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki also played a role. Although Vaseline glass is not considered a substantial health risk unless ingested, the prevailing sentiment led to increased scrutiny of anything related to uranium,Β according to St. James Winery. Redirection of Resources:Β The war effort demanded a redirection of resources and materials towards military production, limiting the availability of resources for non-essential goods like decorative glass.Β While production of Vaseline glass did resume after the war, it was in limited quantities and with stricter regulations,Β says Wikipedia.Β Β Β Β Again, nice mib BrotherΒ 1
