Marbleneophyte
It's been a while y'all. I haven't found any good marbles for a long time. I was going through a collection I bought a while back and and found this swirl. 5/8, quality glass. I'm thinking Alley.

If this one was one inch--I would cal it a Jabo. You listed the size as a seasoned collector should. You keep coming back with more to share with us all here @TheMarbleConnection. Marble--On!! cheese
These and similar can also be found in one inch and near it. Be aware. Examples in the WV swirl book page 139, 142, 146 although none are an exact match.

markermurt
Nice find, especially pulling something like that out of an older collection. From the look of it, I’d lean Alley as well. The glass quality and those earthy swirls with the green and rust tones feel very Alley-esque to me, especially compared to Ravenswood, which often comes off a bit muddier or less defined in the patterning. The size fits too, and the polish looks right for an Alley swirl rather than a later production piece. That said, Alley vs Ravenswood can still be a headache sometimes, and there’s always overlap. Either way, it’s a solid marble and definitely a step above the usual stuff people stumble across these days.
