  1. Hey DownIsland, that's something to check on, for sure. I'm pretty sure rookie will investigate it further seeing as he removed the auction. Maybe we can help him get information? If he's like me and doesn't have books but relies on what the internet has available, sometimes it's a long searching process and your eyes go buggy after an hour or so. His marbles are beautiful and he's asked about several just to be sure and that's kewl. For many of us, it's a learning process...I'm learning stuff all the time. Have a great day! :-) Felicia
  2. Thanx Clyde for helping. And Rookie, hey, I wanted to learn more, so it helped me out too. Have a great day! :-) Felicia

  13. I dunno wvrons. As I had said, these are not mine. I just went net-surfing, came across them and curious about them being real or fake. The first one can be found here: http://www.timewarptoys.com/toys.htm :-) Felicia
  14. It looks like what was supposed to be a cub scout and I see the blending Splattman had mentioned. I have seen it worded as 'anemic', where when you have that much white as opposed to having the yellow and blue colors covering the surface. Here's an example I found online at marblequeen's site (item #17M) of a transition between two different marble types, bumblebee and cub scout. Hope I am correct about your marble and If not, that someone will come along and give us both more knowledge. :-) Felicia
  15. These aren't mine...found them online. But thank you for the information. I was just curious and bored, so I was looking around the internet and came across these. :-) Felicia
  16. Or are any of them real? Thanx :-) Felicia
  17. Is this where the 'cutter' accumulated what I had read as 'burrs'? Where the cutter needed cleaned? :-) Felicia

  22. I love the colors and design in this one (Joe makes some kewl marbles) http://cgi.ebay.com/MMM-Marbles-99-Cent-ma...%3A1%7C294%3A50 :-) Felicia
  23. Hey Okie, Try thinking of your eyes...closed...top lid is one color, bottom is another color, your lids meet together and on either side are your lashes...kinda like =)= ( I think that might be helpful)
  24. From Akron Marbles: Glossary of Marble Terminology FRESSE, PRE-: The term "Pre-Fresse" is used by collectors to identify a design feature appearing on Akro Agate Company "Prize Name" marble (called Popeye by collectors) that resemble tiny feather -like features on the demarcation-line between two colors of glass. Collectors perceive this as a diagnostic feature revealing the marble's date of manufacture as previous to Ira Fresse's invention of The Akro Agate Company's gob feeder, or pre 1922 and that Popeye marbles manufactured with the Fresse gob feeder do not carry these same feather-like features. The problem with the term (besides the fact the Fresse gob feeder didn't work, never produced marbles and its patent was voided in federal courts) as presently used by collectors, a marble with a Pre-Fresse design feature is a gob fed marble made almost 5 years before the first successful use of a gob feeder and almost a decade before The Akro Agate Company obtained a working gob feeder.
