  1. @Chad G. Thanks for the links. So any Akro peewee is called a Swee'pee, regardless of colors?
  2. Ha! I just realized that the Aquamilk on the left in the last photo is the same marble as the one in the group of Aquamarines. lol
  3. You're right many Popeye boxes had a single peewee in the compartment with the bag. Art has talked about it too. I am not saying these marbles aren't Akro - they sure look it to me. I just want to hear if and how the debate was resolved.

    ID please

It looks Akro to me too - what size is it?
  5. As for the pattern, I think it may just be a wholly machine-made marble that got spun in the process and that it is probably not hand-gathered. Sorta like these.
  6. We need @Steph to take a look at this thread. I know there was considerable debate about where Rosenthal acquired the peewees for their games and I am not sure if it has been resolved. The fact is that Akro made very few marbles at the 00 size (9/16") let alone smaller 000, peewee, size mibs. And to fill their game boxes, Rosenthal would have needed a ton of them so . . .?
  7. Vacor all the way. If you look at their swirls, they often have four ribbons of color. This one just didn't swirl enough to obscure that cut-off (seam).
  8. No JABO, that's for sure - it's a Master with a wobbly patch, IMO. That stray ribbon that looks like it's on the other side of the marble just wandered away from the patch.
  9. Wow, Dave, I am really digging that second one!

    Most likely a Rainbo IMO.
  11. @Jzoook6 I am not very familiar with other types of Master cat's eyes but yours look newer to me. Apparently, @akroorka has some Master Glass cat's eye bags though so maybe he'll have a better idea.
  12. It's all in good fun, Rick. I hope you know I'm just goofing around too.
  13. Oh yeah, that's a keeper!
  14. I'd like to see a pic of the bottom pole of this marble - the bottom of the marble as it sits in the caliper pic.

    4 color cat

It's a pretty one, no doubt, I'm thinking foreign too.
  16. FWIW, I am not sure what kind of marble this is but I am not thinking it's JABO. I'd like to see a nice straight-on photo of the seam (or the end of the patch) that is showing at the bottom of the marble in your first pic.
  17. I believe you are thinking about Marble King St. Mary's Cat's - that's where they did their original 4-colors and cross-thoughs.
  18. A lot of these small ones showed up in games.
  19. That's a great Vitro Aquamilk, Melissa! Just FYI, there is a wide range of variation in this type of Vitro. In the most sought after examples of Aquamarines that yellow turns to brown and will cover most or all of the white. Then if it gets a good Vitro "V" or a twist in it and some added Vitro oxblood you've got yourself one heck-of-a marble! Here's a big Aquamarine variant with lots of brown/amber transparent - a bit weak on the aqua though. Here are some more Aquamarine variants . . . with an Aquamilk like yours in the middle row, left of center. And finally, here are a couple of more Aquamilks like yours. They're all great Vitros and I'll grab every one I can get!
  20. Thanks for the info Art, I sorta figured it was MG and not MM. Do you have any loose "potato chip cat's eyes" to trade? I sure would like to have a color palette full.
  21. I just want to say how happy I am you've joined us here, Jeff. Your experience is obvious and adds much to the discussion. So thanks for that!

    Akro?

It sure looks orange to me too - not a common color as far as I know. And it's great how the ribbon dips below the surface of the colored transparent base on one edge - gives the illusion of being a two color snake. It's a great marble, no doubt.
  23. Would being CAC make this a HG Red Devil then?
