  1. Oh boy, I'll have to look in my Akro stash - I set the small ones aside too. I'll see what I can dig up but it may take a while, I have more marbles than I know what to do with and finding them could take awhile.
  2. I am sure some of those don't glow but do you know if any of the ones with red and blue ribbons don't glow? I sure would like to know for future reference.
  3. It sure looks Vitro to me - love the patch color.
  4. @akroorka I'd be surprised to see transparent red on a near peewee Akro but I sure haven't seen them all.
  5. The left one looks foreign to me, the center does look like an Akro Corkscrew, and the third looks like a JABO to me too - cut-lines do appear on them sometimes.
  6. Your photos aren't so bad - just need more various views
  7. No JABOs here that I can see - the first one looks sorta brick-ish, IMO. I'd like to see more and different views of each.
  8. In my experience, the base on the yellow & blue ones and the red & blue ones have a similarly intense response to UV - seems about the same for yours.

    I agree with that!
  10. The base glows bright on the red ones just like the yellow ones - at least in the examples I have, although that could be a selection bias on my part. Do you have similar that don't glow?

    ID red swirl

JABO did make them that size.
  12. According to my volume calculations, it would be a double ingot made from two 11/16" marbles but it's hard to tell from the pics if it really is one.
  13. Sorta looks that way - what size is it?
  14. The blue and green in the base reminds me of some bifurcated Pelts I've seen. There's one in this group of Pelts I gave brother Bill for Christmas.

There are just not a lot of traits to hang an ID on this one but I'm leaning toward an early JABO Classic.
  16. I think it's probably an odd ball Alley - the striping doesn't look quite crisp enough for CAC, IMO.

    Akro is what I'm thinking.
  18. I'll agree with Chad - a "tweener" that really wanted to be a Dragon but didn't quite get there. Not a Dragon's Eye either, IMO.

A nice TriLite from earlier in Vitro's production.

    Akro ?

It sure is a beautiful blue - maybe too nice for Master, IMO.
  21. It is with a heavy heart that I report my best friend Bill McCaleb (mibcapper) passed away yesterday at his home. I loved him like a brother. Bill was a wounded Vietnam Veteran who got into a land mine within days after deploying to the front lines. He carried the scars and health issues associated with his injuries for the rest of his life. After more than a year of rehab in Germany and California he became a USPS postal carrier in west central Illinois where he eventually retired early after a back injury and more surgery. He collected marbles for about 30 years and dug at nearly every factory in West Virginia and Christensen Agate too. I have never known another person who was as excited about dirty marbles as he was. Bill, Ron Shepherd and I spent many days and nights marbling and over many years attended so many shows together that we became known as the "Three Amigos". "Get 'em all" was one of Bill's favorite marbling phrases and he contributed much to the hobby. One of his many achievements was discovering and naming the Alley Carnival. Years ago, I picked him up in Illinois and took him to the VA Hospital in Indianapolis and back. When I got home, I found a Carnival he had slipped into my coat pocket. That's the kind of person Bill was, generous to a fault. I spent many days with him talking marbles, looking at marbles and swapping marbles, and we shared all the ups and downs of life and supported one another just like brothers would. Fortunately, Ron, Nola Morgan and I were able to spend a couple of more days visiting with him shortly after Christmas. Bill was in high spirits and we relived a lot of good times and marble adventures past. As usual, he was gibing with us and laughing and having as much fun as he could muster, just like he always did. Only this time, he wasn't able to muster quite as much as he usually would. Bill always lived life in the moment, and grabbed every ounce of joy that he could. Rest in peace brother Billy, I already miss you dearly.
  22. I think it would be a stretch too far to call this one a Green Raven. Does this marble glow under UV?
