    Akro Patch?

    Yes, an Akro patch.
  2. Please don't purchase that thinking it's a Carnival because it's not even close.
  3. It looks like a JABO Classic from what I can see.

    Master?

Not American marbles - they look Asian or maybe Mexican to me.
  5. I'll go with Peltier - I think the HG look is just an illusion.

    3/4 Slag

    I'd say Akro.
  7. This is a great addition to the archive, Aiko - maybe the earliest photo of Cat's Eye marbles I have seen.
  8. It's a little different but I'm leaning toward a nice Alley from St. Marys.
  9. The newest packaging I've seen with Black Line All Reds was 1967 so probably sometime after that.
  10. That possibility crossed my mind, and it's pretty beat up so it's kind of hard to tell for sure. But I am not seeing the cut-off I would normally associate with an MFC slag so I'll stick with Navarre for now.
  11. These appear to be slags (white striping glass in a transparent clear or colored base glass). They appear to be Akros, IMO. The red one is very nice - Akro called that type Cardinal Red.
  12. I would say it is an Akro Moss Agate.
  13. That looks like an old single-gather hand made glass marble. The little "nubbin" in the first picture looks like a melted pontil. It may be a Navarre.
  14. Yes, a red dyed clay, not a Bennington - nice size!
  15. I assume you are looking for an ID since we're in the ID section? They hand made German marbles cut from a cane. The first is a divided ribbon core swirl and the second is a white latticino core swirl.
  16. It's in the neighborhood but you want to see pure yellow on a Superman. There are three good ones in this group of St. Mary's.
  17. The first is a nice patch - no name that I know of. The second is a newer style All Red.
  18. Another great marble, Alan - very nice! Josh Simpson?
  19. @disco005 Very nice, Jess - the yellow and blue on clear is really cool - I don't remember seeing another.
  20. That is what I have been saying - apparently, not very well though. I would expect the mica in cased examples to appear pretty much the same, regardless of the base color.
  21. Why is it that the color of the metallic sheen produced by the mica varies with the color of the base glass? If they were all cased in clear wouldn't you expect the mica to look the same silver color regardless of the base color - like it does on Onion Skins or Peppermints - regardless of what color lies beneath it?
  22. It's not, I agree with you in general. But in reference to micas, I think "cased" actually has some utility since it describes a construction that is significantly different than non-cased versions. If you think about Onion Skins or Peppermints with mica the idea of "cased" loses its significance since they are all cased in clear glass.
