Oh what the hey, I think if you put some bright white around that patch you'd have a Vitro Wedding Cake. So there you go, three people, three different takes - you know what that means . . . You're gonna have to figure it out yourself.

Pinchers, Pincers, Wales, Mt. Fujis, I've heard them called a variety of things over the years. They are all Japanese, IMO, and they were all probably made by the same company over some period of time.

Is there a name for that style, Alan? They seem pretty nicely done to me.

Yeah, that light ribbon looks like it split, if it was together it'd still be narrow but it probably wouldn't be as ghostly. In my experience, the six ribbon bos are way less common than the four ribbons, especially those on transparent with multiple color ribbons like this one and the one on the left here, and I am confident they are earlier than the four ribbon ones too, that's why I think of them as tweeners.

Yeah, I'm comfortable with Master now - not a brushed patch though, more of a Sunburst style.

I just want to be sure you understand that I think the white ribbon on top in the second pic is two ribbons running together. I see it as w/w/y on both sides of the seams, with the typical Pelt flip-flop.

FWIW, that blue is pretty unusual for a typical Cub Scout, IMO. I have seen these as normal P&Rs but I've also seen them called different things, Golden Boy among them, but I don't think that's right either, my best idea would be a Blended Anemic Cub Scout.

If it was a master, I probably wouldn't call it a "brushed patch" but I'm not even sure it's Master. I notice that you often don't show a straight on photo of both seams, which is often critical to having the best chance at an accurate ID - I'd like to see a straight on shot of the seam at the top of the marble in the upper left small pic before I say more. I do appreciate that nice shot of the other seam in the lower right photo though. 🙂

I'm pretty much with Al - $227 does seem high. But it is a 100 count bag and they are certainly less common in that size. The only other thing that I can see that may have influenced the price is that it has a mixture of patch & ribbon and double ribbon types in it, although I'm not sure how common or uncommon that is.

That is a cool marble - it almost has to be a Peltier, IMO.

I sort of think of these as "tweeners", FIre - a six ribbon Rainbo, and far less common than an Orange Sunset too, IMO.
