  1. I think this is the post Joe is referring to . . .
  2. Master Made Marbles was the original Master (1931) and Master Glass came after a 1941 reorganization and move. The quality of the earlier ones is noticeably better than the later ones. The cat's Eyes are Master Glass and the nicest Sunbursts are Master Made. Beyond the the general quality and the fact that more recycled and cheaper glass was used in the Master Glass marbles, I think the structure is pretty much the same, but I'm sure Art will have more to say about it
  3. I do think it's Akro but when people talk about "chocolate" they are usually referring to the base glass. Like Billy McCaleb's Chocolate Oxblood . . .
  4. Cool, Joe. I like to have good examples of newer marbles too but I always worry about bulk collections like this, and boxes/tins in general, since it's so easy for the marbles to get mixed up. Speaking from experience, Mom sees marbles laying around on the floor and they all get thrown into the "marble box", regardless of where they came from. Having said that, I have no reason to believe the marbles you're showing aren't original to the tin. It would be nice to find one with the marbles still inside the poly-mesh bag the way they were originally packaged though, just to be sure. Also, I reccommend that you don't visit the website shown on the back of the tin unless you are prepared to intercept an automatic download purported to be from Microsoft. 🙂
  5. Hey Dink, I know you're aware that the transparent orange and yellow combo is a recurrent JABO theme and the yellow base color varies pretty broadly. So I am wondering what makes you so confident that the last one isn't a JABO. What am I missing?
  6. I think it's just an older style, Fire. Here's an old post with some that have similar coverage . . .
  7. That's a dandy Lemon-Lime Ade there, Al!

    Slag ?

I agree this is an old transitional slag (hand-gathered and machine rounded), and a nice one too. You might learn more if you can identify or describe the cut-off mark, which I would expect to find in the area I've circled (from your 5th photo). Do you see anything that looks like an indented or raised line, or pinhead-sized bump in that area?
  9. You're pretty chatty there today, Art. 🤣
  10. I think that is an Asian marble, often referred to as an Imperial - pretty nice one too.
  11. Bull's Eye Chinas produced in Germany - nice find.
  12. That looks like a German hand-made glass game marble or ballot ball to me.

    Master?

It's looks Master or Akro to me but the photos are too blurry to tell which.

    ?

I believe these are all veneered Vitros - Conquerors or variants.

    Wv?

The fractures are unfortunate. My first thought is Ravenswood but the details are blurry so it's a little hard to tell. What size is it?
  16. Nice, you obviously have much better hunting grounds than I do around here. I haven't seen a group in the wild like that for years and years. Luck you!
  17. I'll actually call @ROSIEonFIRE for you, Fire. They may not even notice the lounge. 🙂
  18. Cool beans - some Akros can be loaded with the stuff, green AV is the most common but it can come in a few different colors.
  19. They look like a game marbles with a little extra color - there's a hint of blue in there too. I'd lean Alley over Champion. Game marbles still have the pattern of their producer. Some folks call the nicer ones "Monochromes". I've seen some Alleys with great flames.
  20. Just a run-of-the-mill Vitro patch, IMO.
  21. Maybe it was supposed to be a Corkscrew and it's just messy.
  22. It does look like it could be an aberrant onyx with waaay more than it's fair share of white. Lazy suggests it just doesn't spiral well. This one looks like it spirals plenty, at least to me. It just looks like there is little or no separation between the spirals. I think this one is just an error. The tracer looks like just a bit of stray color and probably not intentional.
  23. I could see it being an Akro game marble but I think it's hard to know for sure what company made it since many produced tons of "clearies".
  24. At that size, I'd say MFC too - maybe produced for an industrial purpose like pump valve balls.
