  1. Okay, I'll contribute but you should probably edit your topic title to "Red Slag-O-Rama" or something. 🙂
  2. I think those are Veiligglas- packaged from a large horde and sold long after the factory closed, if I remember correctly. But this didn't happen yesterday, I want to say maybe 60s-70s? I'll bet @Mojo will know about them.
  3. Thanks for the reminder, TJ. A late train and a late post to go with it . . . I started poking around in my Akro archives, after not looking in there for several years. Brother Billy always got my best ones but I was pleasantly surprised to find that I still have some pretty good ones laying around. I really need to pay them more attention.
  4. Thank you, I am gravitating more toward old marbles these days. And I really like the one you posted. Simply put, that's a good marble. What size is it? I am not even quite sure what I would call it - a butterscotch slag? Seriously, the pattern on that marble has got to be about as good as is gets. What a stunner!
  5. Looks like a Peltier to me - a stuffed 6-ribbon, I think. Nice marble.
  6. Nice marble. I like the structure and I'm pretty sure I've seen one before, but I have to mull it over a bit.
  7. I think I have a few but I can't get to them at the moment. @Tommy Are you sure that's not a moss agate? Akro is always my first impression when I see it. Do you have any pics of the base back-lit? That might help me see it.
  8. The OP looks Cerise to me but I agree with @Chad G. about not seeing small ones. The more white inside, the more orange it looks and it looks like the OP maybe just didn't get its fair share so it's redder than most. No doubt, a sweet little slag, regardless.
  9. Perfect, as I expected. As much as I might try, I really don't have the bandwidth to remember Vacor names. At this point, I'm lucky if I can remember the marble is certainly Vacor. And it makes me very happy when someone else comes along to save me from embarrassing myself. So thank you very much for that! 😄
  10. Sheesh, that is a nice-looking marble, Melissa. There is a lot of striping glass in that one, and the matte finish looks really nice on it.
  11. None that I would know. But if it's a Vacor, there's a good chance its called something. lol
  12. Spoken like a true OG (old guy) - any marble with only white in a transparent clear or colored base, right Art?
  13. Those could easily be Alleys - they were sold in the UK.
  14. I have to agree with Art.
  15. That's a dandy little Japanese creased "pontil" transitional!
  16. How big is this one?
  17. And Peltier oxblood can differ a bit from Akro's. Like Chad said, I've seen it mostly on MCSs but I have seen it on a few others too. It's a nice Rainbo though, no two ways about that.
  18. The only Akro "Opal" I can think of is a Fire Opal and this isn't one of them. Akro Corkscrews on an off white UV reactive base are not too uncommon. And I think what you have there would be called "lazy corkscrews" as opposed to patches. But more views might alter my thinking on that.

    5/8 Toss Up

    I'm leaning Vitro over Akro.

    3/4 WVS

    I'm thinking Alley.
  21. I agree that it's some type of a German handmade. It just looks like the pontils have been obliterated.
