  1. The question is . . . are there any cut lines (seams) like you see in the left shot here, right along the red patch?
  2. Are there any seams or cold rolls on that mib?
  3. O.K. That's what I thought too. So the question now is . . . which ones? You KNOW I like those B&G's Buddy! And you got it . . . that marble's Texas-bound. NOW, just imagine there's a mint 1 3/4" blue and green CAC diaper fold right . . . here.
  4. What got me thinking about it is marbles like those in posts #119 and #172. They really have a hand gathered-looking pattern on the side opposite the fold.
  5. Buddy 'ol Buddy 'ol Pal . . . SORRY! While you are most certainly perceptive, you are most certainly NOT a woman! Please excuse my buffoonery! Which one of those "fall cat's eyes" do you want - left or right? And FYI: This is what I would have said had WINNIE actually written that . . . Because you are a very perceptive woman, Winnie. Why else? LOL.
  6. Thanks Steph, I guess my question really is . . . Is "diaper fold" a more specific designation than "single seam"? For instance, perhaps only applicable to hand gathered marbles, or Christensen marbles, or . . .?
  7. Are some/any/all diaper folds hand gathered?
  8. WINNIE, That marble you posted is gorgeous. Thanks for sharing it. I don't get to see too many of the German machine-mades. Do you know if they made single-seam striped -transparents or -opaques?
  9. Hey Doc, FWIW, I'm leaning further Akro than any other direction. They sorta look like distant relatives:
  10. O.K., Now that right there . . . THAT'S funny!! LOL LOL LOL! Would this qualify as a diaper fold?
  11. Excellent pics, and an awesome time of year.
  12. Just one more - slightly over 5/8".
  13. Nice marble, Burt. Kind of American Agate colors . . . but . . . hmmm? Here's a 19/32" I like . . . not too sure about a diaper fold though . . .
  14. Happy Birthday, Steph. I hope you have a great one!
  15. Wow, now there's a great pic of some sweet mibs. Thanks a lot. Some of them look like they don't have much white streaked in with the ade-base - sorta like an ade-based moss agate. Very nice!
  16. Thanks, I'm pretty sure they're Akro, and that the one on the left is a LemonAde. The question is really more about the patch on the right, which shares all the characteristics of the lemonade, except the pattern. Does anyone else have examples of Ade-based patches? Thanks again.
  17. Cool marbles, Duffy. And a interesting story behind them - too funny! -Ric
  18. Thanks Al. If I correctly understand some info from the Consumer Product Safety Commission pages, it seems that the actual CHOKING HAZARD warnings were not required until after the Child Safety Protection Act of 1994. Although, I do believe that age recommendations (e.g., AGES 3 AND UP) were required earlier. After 1 January, 1995, marbles required the warning: CHOKING HAZARD - This toy is a marble. Not for children under 3 yrs.
  19. The Choking Hazard Warning on this Taiwanese bag is for under age 6. Was that age ever commonly used? Does anyone have any other examples?
  20. Happy Birthday, Darla. I hope you have a great day! -Ric
