  1. Those flower ones with single outer bands and the cross band ones with leaf pattern are more interesting and beautiful than any I have seen in real life or a pic. Are they yours? Can you say more about their origin please?
  2. Nice wirepulls! I find them in England too, and also the colored base ones with a white swirl. What do you think of the latter if not wirepull?
  3. So much information, many of us didn't see as we weren't here yet, please don't let any more be lost over time.
  4. It is certainly not a new thing for a single marble or group to be sold on Ebay only to resurface shortly after re-vamped and sell for more. More often the original sale will just disappear in a privately arranged buy it now so it does not get recognized.
  5. ok, how about this one? If I have completely missed the point here please enlighten! thanks
  6. It is a gift item, sold from a gift catalogue, and would make a nice gift. There are marbles sold by sellers who know better. Where's the problem?
  7. Whoops sorry I sneaked one in there while you were writing slowly. Hope you checked that one out ok! Yes "Show Us Your Double Ingots" may have been a good choice title.
  8. Nice Germans #22 & #24. Quite like the Czech bullets too
  9. Bermars are without doubt very nice old ones, my post crossed paths.
  10. It looks new from here. The old micas I have are much less uniform in spread, and do not photograph like this albeit they are all smaller.
  11. An old lutz went cheap on Ebay today 280518074326, gutted, got home late, not Alley though.
  12. Yey, those are great fun! we call them rugger ball in England. I read the topic before viewing pics and was hoping to see the vane extend from pole to pole but ne'er mind they are cool as they are
  13. Could anyone elaborate for the sake of us newbies?
  14. They are all beautiful, a real pleasure to see such rare and nice peewees, and good choice whoever brought this old thread up, there could be many more old threads here with new interest to add to.
  15. Found in UK with more of the same and other modern marbles. The ones you show have a lot more opaque white but think these maybe the same type.
  16. Here are some more 'wispler' marbles. They are different from German sparklers.
  17. My rarest could be this battered old handmade single pontil, not sure if it is end of cane or one off.
  18. That's an interesting old thread brought forward. Maybe there were some old Czech ones on Ebay recently?
  19. It is seldom that I look at marbles on Ebay these days so missed this one when listed and likewise any other disputable ones listed lately, but recognized the style of the one posted at #1. I totally agree, respect where it is due. Respect to any seller who lists a marble with honesty and integrity, within the scope of their knowledge and in return respects the buyer, by delivering what the buyer who trusts and pays out for believes they are getting.
  20. Yes the seller knows. I recognised his photography style when that image was posted, so I had a delve on Ebay to find out where he disappeared to. During 2004-2005 he bought and sold many handmade vintage swirls on Ebay including some amazing ones under the name chezbargains and received many very happy feedbacks from collectors. Changed name to vintagemarles and following a neg fb changed name to vauxtigra and merged the account with his non marble id ive856 which only shows vauxtigra in id history, so hiding the marble id's forever, unless you search find member vauxtigra then they are there. The marble fb still shows on the ive856 id but no one would scroll back that far to see it. One quick way of getting a good overview of a seller is to put the id into toolhaus fb checker for negs or neuts, the ive856 id brings up 7, 2 relating to marble transactions. That alone would ring alarm bells for me. He no longer lists on Ebay UK, so probably found a better market elsewhere. And I totally agree it would be boring if every disputable marble was brought up here as many sellers are unknowlegable or hopeful, but this one knows what he is selling.
  21. Wow! That is really amazing! Thanks for the link to the site
