  1. I am more jealous of the fact you are on Sanibel Island, love that place, got engaged on the beach there!
  2. 9/16" Vitro cobalt 8 finger to 1" Akro cobalt cork. Had fun putting this board together!
  3. Sounds like your done, better stop collecting marbles and start collecting something else.
  4. Have to say I am VERY pleased. 1. Very fast shipping, I live in MD and had my marbles yesterday (Wednesday) and they were shipped from CA! 2. VERY reasonable shipping and handling charges. ( I won 11 lots and my S&H was only $7) 3. Decent grading. Thanks and I hope there are many more auctions to come!
  5. Marbles Pre-1940's Van Briggle Art Pottery Pre-1940's Cracker Jack items Stoneware Bottles Antiques in general that catch my eye I dabble in most of these categories other than marbles. Bottles are getting to be more serious by the day as I have currently hit my glass ceiling with marble collecting.
  6. Always good to have new marble venues! Hope to see some great marbles, best of luck
  7. The seller is Morphys shipping manager
  8. A lot of people think I am crazy. I have been collecting for 20+ years and have yet to be tired of looking at them. Sometimes I have to pull myself away from worrying about the condition and rarity of them and just enjoy marbles for the little works of art they are!
  9. I don't think it's the intention of most of us to bad mouth as much as point out experiences. I believe it's important to call out this stuff as its happening more and more. For a lot of people it's a big expenditure to buy at Morphys, so we would like too see better attention to detail paid to the grading of marbles. A major auction house claiming to be top in the field should have a little more QC.
  10. I normally take the 2.5 hour drive to inspect the goods in person. This time I did not have the time. So I can wag the finger at myself for the condition being lower than expected on 2 out of 4 handmade lots. What I was really not happy with this time was the box I bought. I normally do not buy machines, but saw a neat Akro box going cheap. When I opened it the bottom of the box, it had a thumb sized hole punched through it that looked fresh. Perhaps it was there before, perhaps it was by the shipping dept. I did recently return something on eBay to the shipping Mgr of Morphys. So who knows I was very pleased with one particular lot I bought, so in the end I suppose it was a wash. Lesson learned, do not bid without looking over the goods in person!
  11. Just would like to know how others feel? I myself was less than ecstatic
  12. Did they start putting taxes on out of state bids? Or was that a mistake on my invoice?
  13. Love the grading scale of this seller....................................... NOT!
  14. True, but gives the description "vintage" But I will Admit that description "vintage" is a horse of many colors!
  15. I would be upset if I bought a marble listed at 2 1/2" if measured 2 3/8" from pontil to pontil, regardless if it measures larger at other angles.
