Oh God. You just about killed me with this one! It's kind of overwhelming. The brain doesn't know how to deal with it being kind of creepy, and somehow at the same time being the most wonderful thing you've ever seen. ( :
-
Nice! Wish I could have seen it too. But the local climate decided that it was 'not to be'.

Ha! When I first met my land-lady, she referred to the place where I live as 'the apartment'. But after she got to know me better, she always called it 'the cave'! ( :

In the last few years I've heard a lot of references to "getting outside of your comfort-zone". It sort of seems like this is the new 'cure-all' therapy that will make you 'whole'. It's probably a pretty good idea for many people. But what if you're like me, and already by nature spend 18 hours a day outside of the zone? Personally, I'm pretty sure what I really need is more time 'in'. Not 'out'.

I like it! Had to come back to it a couple times and continue to think before the brain was on all cylinders and appreciated how deep this is. And it's pretty wild to realize that with so many things we're doing the exact same thing right now! ( :

Wow! Some of these are just killing me! The first one that made me go "oooh!" out loud was the transparent with the red-striped white patch. But then the other transparent with the blue patch started to make me go crazy too. Same thing for the earlier blue marble with what I want to call "the Akro-yellow patch". And this last one would be terrific if it only had all the great oranges and reds. But that one tiny little darker line makes it completely insane! ( :

I'm hoping that on a Saturday night I can get away with deviating from the work-day 'iron-fist' rules around here and post in a slightly off-topic way. I'm not actually eating this right now. But I was 'thinking' about it! Just saw an ad for chicken-noodle soup. Pretty sure I haven't had any of this for forty years or so. I'm not sure what my 'problem' is. Obviously a gazillion people think it's great. And all the ingredients certainly sound good. But somehow it's always seemed like the most boring soup in the world to me. But then I thought "What about lime juice and red pepper?" I think that might work. Will have to find out one of these days. It's a really great addition to different foods at different times. And enjoyed all over the world, although kind of new to the U.S. If you're a football fan and not sure if you'd like this kind of flavoring, you can check it out easily. When you make your next 'chips run', you can now find both chips and tortillas with this great combination. ( :

I just thought this was a cool picture. ( : Back in 2009, Samantha Cristoforetti was selected by the European Space Agency to become Italy’s first female astronaut. She went on to spend 200 days aboard the International Space Station, setting the record for the longest continuous space flight by a woman.

Lately I've been noticing that several of the long-running television commercials for various attorneys have seen fit to make a point of proudly proclaiming the amount of money they're 'recovered' for their clients. Gee! Sounds like a lot! But what does it really mean? In the example shown below, we're dealing with people who have been around for twenty eight years. So if we 'average-out' their monetary figure, it comes to about three and a half million dollars a year. So just how many clients do you think these ambulance-chasing offspring of unwed parents have? They and others like them have always made a point of making themselves completely available to every member of our large population. Why don't we say that they theoretically have one hundred clients at any given time, even though that's ridiculous. This would mean that they're 'recovering' about thirty-five thousand dollars per client. And forgive my cynicism, but I think they have more clients than that. And that their 'funds recovered' figure is 'before fees'. So you can chop off half of the final amount, and divide it even further if you also believe that they have more than one hundred clients. The final result is not the sort of figure that would allow a person who has genuinely had his life destroyed to have a comfortable retirement. I'm not impressed.

Great opening post, both for the style and the content!

I like it! Overall, I can't cook worth a lick. But I've taken a little extra time trying to learn the best way to make a few things that are important to me. One of these is Hollandaise Sauce. That requires the extra step of heating the sauce in a Pyrex measuring cup which is immersed in a pot of hot water. Makes all the difference in the world. Have to guess that the marble technique for dulce de leche is another approach to 'even-out' the heat for a similar 'slow-cooking' process. Steph, my gut guess is that agates might be fine, and could possibly add some worthwhile minerals. But please don't quote me on this, and for that matter, don't do it! The 'steelies' would worry me even more!

Dry popcorn and zucchini bread. In my current 'financially challenged' condition, I've mostly been eating my reserves of brown rice and black beans. But the other day I got taken to lunch, and was able to order a sandwich 'Oscar Madison' style. Pastrami on rye. Extra fat! ( :

Just got 'caught up' here and saw the last few videos. My one small complaint has to do with the Cateye one. It was a little disturbing to me the couple of times when the video 'reversed' and the marbles traveled 'backwards'. It disrupted the pleasant forward-moving trance I was in. But I'm pretty neurotic, and am probably an exception. Want to say thank you to YellowMarble for all the great stuff! The videos and actual machines are completely insane! In my style of talking, this means "genius"!

I don't think I could 'hang out' with either of you, unless I had a separate television. But that's okay since you're so 'perfect' in all other regards!
-
I can't thank you guys enough. I was feeling 'all alone in the world'!

Even though I know you're being funny, I haven't lied here yet, and have to admit that I couldn't possibly explain what an emoji is. I've heard of them, and just ignored them as another modern example of 'the same old wine in a brand new bottle'. It should be pointed out here for people who don't know me, that I've never sent a 'text message' in my entire life. Wouldn't know how. Seriously. ( :

"Sugared"? This can't be 'politically correct' these days! At least according to one cereal manufacturer who makes something called 'Corn Pops'. My 'wisdom and experience' (what a nice way to put it!) allows me to know that this isn't the 'real' name! Just goofing around. Appreciate the information! "Bruise but don't break" is a great description! Pretty much explains it all. But now I have to wonder about that Crisco thing! Could a crafty lawyer disqualify a tournament winner for having applied Crisco to his shooter? It could easily be explained that he, like others, did it for 'appearance purposes'. Maybe it could give a 'performance advantage'. I don't know!

(There will be no 'old fart' complaining here. Kind of the opposite.) I just saw this commercial, and had to admit a couple things to myself. Maybe all these modern communication devices aren't as entirely bad as I sometimes make them out to be. Although the process still looks a little silly to me, I think I'd like to be able to push three buttons and have a pizza on its way. I'm assuming you can have a 'default' order, so they'll already know exactly what you want, and that you can have it automatically charged to your account of choice. Yeah. I think I might like that.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1tgQQjB9emw

(Whoops. That should have said "question". I have to ask one more question. But you knew what I meant. Still, tomorrow morning my editor gets his 'walking papers'.) Hah! Thanks for the responses! Honestly, I didn't have a clue, but somehow it just sounded like advertising hype. I was 'chicken' to say so, for fear that maybe the entire world except me already knew that agates were 'soft' and I'd sound stupid.
-
I got so much great education about agates a while back, that I hate to be greedy. But now I have to ask one more. Is Akro's statement that the Cornelian "... greatly exceeds a real agate in durability" accurate? Do collectors consider their agates to be on the delicate side? Or is the distinction mostly significant for marbles used for serious play? Thanks.

Many of us New Yorkers suffer from Woodyallenitis. This is a self-doubt and guilt driven neurotic disorder, which occasionally causes its sufferers to beat themselves up in their sleep. ( :

I don't know anything about dolls. But I can see she's spectacular! I was a little thrown by the bunny feet too. But felt better about them when I thought of the little girl as a representation of a 'real person' and the bunny-suited baby as a doll belonging to her. It's a doll of a doll, so it doesn't have to make perfect sense. No doubt the black pepper cheddar would be incredible. I'm wondering, though, if the pepper 'accent' might require a slightly different 'ultimate beverage accompaniment'. Nuts! This will require much painful research! I was going to say "Don't be silly! There's no wine at Dairy Queen!" But then I looked up what a 'Buster Bar' is. The idea of a semi-traditional ice cream bar done with 'soft-serve' is neat. I won't be happy until I try one. ( :

I just had a mental picture of Linda Ronstadt performing in Montgomery. Singing 'Blue Boo'.

New one on me! Geesh, that sounds like it would be somewhere pretty near 'colonoscopy' on the official 'Patients' Favorite Procedures' ranking! ( :

Wow. 38 years. Your Pittsburg 'Honeydew' must be wonderful!
