  1. Your stick figure is a muscular teddy bear in a track suit, running in a left to right direction. I didn't use to mind a little damage, or a blow hole, if it wasn't on the marble's 'good side'. But I guess I have to admit to myself that that's no longer true. I still think nice old shooters are great when they're appropriately 'beat up'. Makes them more distinguished in my opinion. ( :
  2. Genuine Peltiers! 'The Internet' said so! These may have been the first marbles I purchased after the genuinely genuine 7up that originally got me into this mess.
  3. Please forgive my manic monday silliness, Ric. But I couldn't help chuckling over the name of your marble. It sounds like a move an olympic skater might do for extra points from the judges. ( :
  4. I'm surprised by how scary Ann's clouds are. I definitely had some reaction probably based on remnants of my ancient ancestors thinking "Oh poop in cave! The gods no pleased!" Also admiring the technique in Bo's photo. A perfect 'plane of focus' on the marbles that also lets the background gradually fade out a little. Gives the marbles a realistic 3D pop. ( :
  5. The crows were intrigued by the newcomer's marbles, but they decided to take their game elsewhere.
  6. Okay, good! This fits in with the sizing concept that you and Ric helped me wrap my brain around. The 'either it fits through the hole or it doesn't' idea seems particularly well suited for peewees, in the sense that if you're finding the designation desirable they can't be the least bit bigger. And thanks for mentioning the larger marbles. I have a lot of 15/16 too, which I assumed was a characteristic of certain manufacturers I like, but is apparently the same sizing technique in a slightly larger scale.
  7. Oh heck. Just came to the sobering realization that all the marbles I thought were peewees are actually 17/32 in size. This is a rough tape-measure figure, but it seems to be pretty consistent for a good number of marbles. Does this fit in with a standard size classification?
  8. Oh no! Just read the fine print and realized that the dime coin in the photos isn't included!
  9. Lloyd, I like this guy in an overall way, but need to ask who he is. Also wondering in the previous shot what kind of light you used to send that shadow all the way to the Moon. It must have been really bright!
  10. Keep saying things like that and there certainly won't be a problem. Thanks! I guess maybe to play it safe you could take one out of fifty shots and say something like "Gag me with a spoon! What a visual insult!"
  11. Thank you so much! I thought this was a pretty nice shot, and was really depressed that things seemed like it was just going to disappear with no responses at all. It's funny how that nice rain sound is more relaxing than no sound at all. (Felt a little guilty when I turned the windshield wipers on.)
  12. Went into the woods recently and saw some local fauna. Didn't pay any attention to the photo I took because it's not very good technically. (I think I probably need to relax a little about that sort of thing.) But looking at it now, I think it's pretty neat. Look how this lady instinctively did a 'Secret-Service' move and put as much of herself between me and her little one as she possibly could! God bless Moms. ( :
  13. Neat. I guess that makes sense! I use 'Paint' to save frozen frames from tv shows, because it works so seamlessly with the printscreen key. Sometimes I forget you can actually paint with it. Well look at that! I had to give it a try, and clearly I'm a genius at it! ( :
  14. Not to ignore the neat marbles, but where'd you get the black crayon? That's pretty cool. ( :
  15. Nice marble. And I really like the go-for-it 'full zoom ahead captain!' isolation that lets everything else fade into the background. ( :
  16. I never get tired of these. What's not to like? You already have a nice marble, and then there's this gravy you can throw on top! ( :
  17. Well, you know, I'm all in favor of 'fun in the sun' and that sort of thing. But sometimes a slightly damp dreary day is just what you need. ( :
  18. Progress, although slow, is being made with the official Halloween photo.
  19. Great clip! Beri seems like a terrific person. You just know you could grab a beer with her and talk about any old thing and have a great time. As is always the case with Edna's photo posts, there are too many exceptional marbles to comment on individually. But I'm really fond of that rather off-beat translucent looking experimental. And didn't know there was what I'll call a Marble King 'Pepsi'. The opening photo here is the second example of small moonies I've seen recently. I have four moonies of distinctly different sizes at this point, but for some reason an 11/16 is my smallest. May have to come out of marble-buying retirement and see what I can do at the smaller end of the scale. Was the use of the term 'moonie-like' because a capital-M 'Moonie' would be reserved for a particular manufacturer?
  20. Huh! Hadn't thought about it, but all the places I've seen him have definitely been at ground level. Never really thought about a name either. I tend to call critters "bird" "dog" and "cat". Also, my choices would be limited, since I have no idea if we're dealing with a he or she here. Does anyone know if the distinction is obvious with herons? Or does one have to be rather rude to find out? ( :
