  1. Snyd want to pick me up when you come through in cleveland? You get all the wv....
  2. Randy, Great construction ideas and ability. I'm sure you guys had a fun time building and then filling! Only one suggestion, maybe put a Mirror the height of the cabinet inside one of them, it would open the space and let more light onto your beauties. Or......if you did the two opposite each other you would have a never ending cabinet of repeating marble images. Just saying . Didn't want to talk about the marbles, they are beyond the beyond lol. Ohhhh, and a really spongy carpet on the floor. Accidents happen
  3. Ask Brian G, ive seen his dug pieces from there. I dont recall red and most were slags that were HG......
  4. Dave, I think those are CAC not mfc. Ever since I talked with Brian Graham about his dig I don't attribute any red slag with MFC.
  5. Howdy folks I recently came across this auction house and they had about bunch of marbles and didn't know anything about them. Long story short I separated them into lots and gave them approximate values on each lot. Most of the marbles are in really good condition. I did not grade each lot because of time constraints but I told them to photo any damage. I just read the lots and some of the sizes are off too. I'll have them fix that. This is their first go at a marble auction. Their last auction had marbles in it but they were all mislabeled which prompted me to contact them. Here is s link. It's in house and online. I'm sure there will be good deals. The last auction had an original comic box for like $300..... http://milestoneauctions.hibid.com/catalog/53614/february-7th-vintage-toys--marbles--coins--antiques?tab=0&cpage=6
  6. Randy. That big blue clam is magnificent, truly
  7. These are a couple nice ones I just located
  8. Bump for a great thread and what is the rarity of this green tiger with av? Anyone know?
  9. John, Do you make mables on a similar machine? Anyone have a picture of the cup? Im trying to figure out if the cup has a hole in the bottom that the glass drops out of with a certain sized hole to gauge the diameter of the marble #0,#1....etc. but they decribed throwing the marble against the back roller which suggests it coming out of the top of the cup not the bottom..
  10. This is real eye opening stuff. Mike thanks for sharing! I read those four pages and now it's engrained. I fully understand the process that was wrecking my brain. Those 40 pages would be awesome in a Zip file or something. Please share more. Awesome awesome awesome. Thanks!
  11. Greg those yellows are super HTF. People gloss over them. Not us buddy. Mfc had good quality control but there were some errors that slipped through. I collect these three color slags, like Amber base with green mixed in or these oxblood slags with the xtra colors on the cut side.
  12. Also if they made the supposed red slag for only experimental runs, they would be super rare. I have HG red nines out the wazoo. The numbers are disproportionate
  13. They were in original coffin boxes AND I have pieces from Brian that were dug on site, definitely hand gathered and match. It's a very specific yellow
  14. No, you can definitely tell MFC cut marks apart from most other manufacturers if you really look at them. Pelt Cerise HG slags are more of an orange red IMHO. Messy nines I put with Akro. Crisp non red nines I put mfc or CAC. Then look at the cut to differentiate. I'll have to come back over and show you one day. Cac HG slags are their early colors and won't look like mfc. I have a crazy 7/8" HG electric green which is one of my favorites. No chance it's mfc despite the size
  15. Mon, Mf was very meticulous. In the book it shows the types of onyx marbles produced, the size the color and how many. If you have a 1 7/8" Amber you can figure out which pair of workman made the marble and the day. It gives production dates of when each marble was produced or began to be produced to the day. Ex. It tells when they made purple slags which was only for like a year and white was made right before then. There is a section on how they made bricks for a month or so and it gave the size snd number produced each day on that run.......so I think they would have mentioned red slags. Cohill has all the company paperwork. You need that book lol
  16. Nope, I compared it to beckers 6 that he had in hand and it's very different. The alley ones green fluoresces. But yes there is one similar in colors that's is alley and is equally awesome
  17. No I think we talked about this over at AAM. The three purple ones all came out of the ground (were dug) at cac
  18. If that's it, you got a great deal. Bring it to canton, I have three similar ones you would like to see them all together. The three I have are seafoam/purple; seafoam/brown; and seafoam/brown/purple. Yours seems to be purple/brown/yellow? The missing cousin?
  19. Oh you know how much I like that!! Recent find?
