  2. Nice ones indeed!!!!!!!! Quick question - did the CAC people ever make 1" or larger marbles?
  3. How fun and scientific at the same time! One small step for man and one giant leap for marble collecting!!!!!
  4. The Rich made marbles and the Fenton cullet marbles are about 1 1/8" in diameter and the others are 5/8" diameter. Here are a few pix of each type for your viewing pleasure...lol First 2 of 4 pix - Rich created flower marble
  5. These are at room temperature. I'll try to shoot some close-ups today.
  6. Here is an example of one tray from my kiln I made today - getting ready for my marble show in March. I have made a tray full for the past 4 of 5 days!

  9. ok - here's a bit of history about this project. The first attempt - the bead went all black with all color burning out. The second attempt - I kept the bead in the medium part of the flame and 75% of the color vanished. Last attempt you see here - WAY out in the coolest part of the flame worked! These little buggars were not easy to make a marble out of!
  10. FYI - I have a vendor that makes his own mineral marbles! His name is Wolfgang Mueller and he's really good!

  14. Thanks. It was a ploy because I made an antique looking park bench for my wife as a Christmas present. Her dad's brother made one back in 1920 and it finally fell apart. So, to disguise me making a new bench for her and going to the hardware store, I told her I was making this box and she never knew about the real reason for my wanting to buy wood.
