  1. I know! I would totally have thought Vitro on the light blue with the white patch and green stripe. (And on some of the All-Red looking ones, but I already knew about that All-Red-y kind of MK -- I have a bag of those.)
  2. From the Pelt mural in Ottawa, Illinois https://pickusottawail.com/murals/name/peltier-glass-factory/
  3. In 6th grade, I had a chance. There were a coupla girls who played marbles in the schoolyard at recess. They asked me to play, but they played for keeps and my mother said no to that.
  4. The "miffed" column would be if you were only a little annoyed. "Exasperated" would be for the very annoyed. "I'm not having it" would mean you may be fired up enough to do something about the annoyance. Pretty sure "Fahrvergnügen" is a joke. A little bit of non sequitur to add to the silliness. Yes, from the VW commercial -- which may have been most Americans' introduction to German or German-sounding words. I guess "crepes" is a variation on "cripes" ... which is a euphemism for "Christ". Not sure about "wing nut" ... I think that's a way to insult someone, rather than an expletive. How old? LOL. Not very. I'd guess a couple of years. Just made to look like it's older.
  5. We called it Armistice Day until 1954. Now we remember it as Veterans Day.
  6. I dreamt that I built a marble run and started a thread on it. I posted updates. And then for encouragement Jelle showed up with a picture of a cute little run he did with me in mind ... the last trick was that the balls did a short straight drop at the end and a little hop into a cat's waiting arms.
  7. Ann, girl, you sure do you know how to ride off into the sunset. We're thinking of you.
  8. I think I remember a pink banana. And I'm guessing it was Pelt. But it's not a standard color.
  9. Thanks, Jerry. Come to think of it, I don't know if I have any others than that light blue/white one in the bag. I brought my marbles over first in the move and put them down in my "marble room" in the basement .... and then they got all covered up. So I have to dig 'em out again. Literally.
  10. What does he think you were going to do with it?
  11. That's a lot of photos you took! I have my 12. Um, the link isn't going to the right place. I'll see if I can fix it. Edit: Well, let me just try to post the right link here and not mess with your post: Dave's Appalachian Swirls D.A.S. "RDR III" February 25th, 2017 I think that worked.
  12. Here's the red and white (and clear) which Ann posted
  13. Never heard of it. Will have to add it to my list.
  14. I still haven't figured out how to get a good look at one intriguing marble in my new Ravenswood bag. It has a two-color (light-blue and white) ribbon in a clear base. Kinda hard to see in person through the mesh but it showed up in Al's pic in his auction. Here's Al's pic and it's probably better than I'll be able to get. Just thought it'd be fun to see some more with two-color ribbons in clear. Not a combo that I think of with Ravenswood, though now that I skim the Mostly Pix thread, I do see some. Including red and white.
  15. Once upon a time I had a nearly-one-inch aventurine Japanese cat ... and I sold it. Wish I hadn't. Didn't think they would be so hard to replace.
  16. Bump ... I am very tempted ... but that was such a sweet story ... and I bought Ravenswoods already this month.
