Just a reminder for you. Always check the UV content in any Akro. You may get a surprise on some examples you find. Clear base Akro corkscrew with a (white) cork you will find unexpected results. For example i found one with a UV "pigtail" in the center of it. Unexpected surprises yield a lot of joy. Chuck G---

I agree, a (wanna) be "Pop Eye" Akro cork. Chuck G---

Fire, a very nice odd colored example. Ones like this will range in every direction for color composition. Chuck G---
-
Chad, just maybe an (Akro) of some sort. Yes, i know these examples have been discussed many times. Chuck G---
-
Fire, i agree with Ric. There are quite a few of these that range in the base color quite a bit. A few are rarer than some of the others. I might just say in the family type of Peltiier "Chocolate Muddy". This term "Muddy" has been around for a long time and most will know right away what you are talking about. Chuck G---

Fire, it is a Pelt, but in the "Muddie" family type, not quite there but i (think) there is a name for this example. Chuck G---
-
Fire, here is my opinion and let you decide. I (think) i would possibly stick this example into the Peltier "King Kong" family type. . It has the wash over of colors in the banding and the base is this brownish/chocolate which possibly slides it into this family type. You might go back to the archives and check the photos and compare. It might not be exact but getting there. My opinion. Chuck G---

Ric, says a "Chocolate Mint" which is good, but i sum what put these into the Peltier "Muddy" family types. This example is fairly easy to find, (however) with this base being the same color with other than these ribbon colors are a little tougher to find. The green and blue ribbons are the easiest to find while white and yellow ribbons are HTF. It is very (important) to evaluate the (base) color to determine what family type it may classified in. Mojo, leaning (possibly) "Imperial" of some sort but surface is satin looking, due to bad manufacturing. You will get this surface look due to bad (tumbling) in a machine or if the glass sits very long in water, like a fish tank or ocean water. Just a thought in my feed back. Chuck G---

My take and some may disagree with this, as i had mentioned before. I feel that one could put a lot of examples into this family type. "Citrus" is a generalized term could could go any direction you take it. For me and (my opinion) that the true "Ctirus" must contain someplace, (yellow) in it for the (banana). It being one of the top fruits. Most of the (first) examples of this "Citrus" was on a translucent base glass. There may be an old photo i had posted of the "Citrus" family types. Chuck G---

If the (base) is not (totally opaque base) with NO light thru it, i would put it into the Peltier "Skunk" family type, and if not NO. Chuck G---

Chad, love you comment. i must chime in on this a little bit. i do remember (many) years ago that you could pick up an Akro (hybrid) "Pop Eyes" for maybe more than that, but did not many years ago see them go way up close to this sale mentioned above. One of my favs are these, so go back in the archives and see the photo of the ones i had posted, and yes there is some of these that sold that high. In all my years i do have an idea of the most (rarest) of them all i think. So far never saw any (6) colors in one marble that i could definitly say it was that many. I include white but not clear. Finding actually these (5) (separated) colors are at the top in my book. In the past photo there are (two) that contain (5) colors if i can remember. Chuck G---

Melissa, AKRO all the way, now always look for (av) in these also. Chuck G---
-
These examples are good also. WHY? As Peltier produced the "Cross Thru" family types, now and then one came out with one thru of the ribbons was (transparent) red, not that easy to find. This red example is slightly out of the normal runs of the opaque internal ribbon types. So far, red is the only one i have found of this, unless someone else has a different transparent one outside of this red. My opinions and thoughts. Chuck G---

YES, i agree with the others. Lee (top notch) in my book also. I reviewed what was shown and yes a super nice and being what it is, (well worth) adding to your collection. These in this family type are a little harder to find. What classified family type to put it in is up to you. Any colored transparent base Peltier (outside of the clear) is GOOD. The colors are the "Dragon Fly" colors, us that as you may. I will always add examples like this to my collection. Chuck G---

Linda, i agree with the others. Chuck G---

HAVEN'T SEEN ONE OF THESE IN A WHILE !!
Chuck G replied to Chad G.'s topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
Chad is correct, these are (VERY) nice and to have in a Peltier collection. Chuck G--- -
Treetiger, the Alley blue flames with av are HTF, but the version of the pee-wee in this is even harder to come up with. Chuck G---
-
Treetiger, you are welcome. Always remember when the term is mentioned as "Buttermilk" it is from all i have learned a certain (pattern) of Vitro with this (light yellow) color to it. Chuck G---
-
Charlie, Ric is correct again, as (many) like seeing a LOT more (clear) as most all Akro "Pop Eyes". This question has floated around many years on the (amount) of clear that quantify it for this name sake. "Tweener" a good class for this family type. Chuck G---
-
Welcome Allyssa, YES, Ric is correct on this. I also see foreign. Chuck G---

Ric, has it dead on. In my early years i had found these examples and desiring more to know about (glass flow) i have had long extensive conversations with some collectors who have many years of understanding on this glass flow. Here is what i found out and makes more sense to me than anything. I will start with this, as Peltier produced (more) (yeng yangs) and "Rams Head Chevrons" than most other makers, even though i have mentioned before that other makers had some also, not many but they are out there, all the way to Jabos. North of the equator everything turns clock wise and so does glass when it streams out of the furnace, giving you this yeng yang pattern. What happens then to get this other twist? The marble as i was explained for some reason, may have paused or a slight interruption into the process which twisted it another direction. Some "Rams Head Chevrons have the same direction twist or have have an opposite directional twist. Ron Shepherd and I have had some very long talks about this, man do i miss him, especially as our show here approaches. This falls show (will be) dedicated to Ron. Chuck G---

I use these on my canes and walking staffs. Some of these come into the marble shows. The last cane i done for myself, has a super glower on it. Chuck G---

Melissa, put it into the Peltier "Dragon" (family type). This covers many directions you want to go with it. Chuck G---
