Hey Mike, Did some digging and found them here..... http://www.surpluscenter.com/item.asp?item=5-1572&catname=electric Hope that helps. As far as the machine goes, did the wiring today, and fired it up. Run's pretty good. I noticed the main shaft turns pretty fast, so I'm going to get some fan blades and attach them to keep the motors cool. Still need to get the grit, chains, and of course the heads. Other then that, I think it's ready to go.

Hi Mike, I got them here http://www.sciplus.com 110v 80rpm $4.95 each and I had to tap my own holes. I just checked and it looks like they are sold out.

Hi. NICE score!!! I was watching that auction. You are giving me hope, as I picked up the Peltier lot. So I'm hoping that they are as minty and killer as yours (will be here today). Will you post a picture of the 'true' popeye patch? Thanks for sharing!!!!! -
Got To See This Machine...
William Marbles replied to William Marbles's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
Hi. I posted this because I thought it was the crazy polisher ever. All those pulley's (left looks like the belts for a 4 cyl., different motors, extra wood, the size of it and the fact it's tilting in the wrong direction. But, it's very neat as well. Someone wanted a machine and they made it. Looking at it again, I think this might have started as a 2 head setup, the back and right uprights seem to be the same, the left looks like an addition. ?? I can't imagine if the rubber bands broke at the top...... I'd still like to see a video of it running!!! -
Reproductions And The Damage They Can Do??

Why is Scott, always getting dragged into stuff? Poor Scott. This is about marble companies not marble artist.... right? What company has the Peltier machine now? -
Hi. Oldnurse is a she. She lives 30 minutes away from me and I do some business with her from time to time. Oldnurse85 is her stuff, Oldnurse85-c is consignment. Good people. Now as far as these type marbles go..the Olympic dig stuff. My friend just emailed me yesterday from CA.... she just bought some last week.... now I have to tell her about them. Hate that. I hope she didn't spend a lot on them.

That looks good Galen....hmmm, maybe I should try the flash out.... You like your purchase? Have you tried to shot a meteorite yet?

Toys & Hobbies Marbles Pre-1970 Machine Made http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Lot-of-10-Marbles-Swirl-Agate-Christensen-Akro-Peltier-/111132206503?pt=Marbles&hash=item19dffee5a7 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Marbles-9-Akro-Agate-Oxblood-Carnelian-3-4-7-8-EXCELLENT-CONDITION-/400540449996?pt=Marbles&hash=item5d42123ccc http://www.ebay.com/itm/Jabo-classics-Various-runs-McCulloughs-last-runs-lot-of-80-HUGE-lot-3-4-/400540449729?pt=Marbles&hash=item5d42123bc1 this is just a small sample while I was looking this morning.... My two cents.. You see where these are listed under. Doesn't matter if you tell the seller. Over and over groups like this are available. Vintage, what a find, Rare, etc..... And even better is when you eMail them and ask how old do you think they are....... Then the eMail stopper is when I ask them why they have these listed in the pre-1970 area.... no reply, business as usual. I don't collect them and if I get them, they go into a jar by themselves to be sold as new/modern, not as vintage filler's. Cycle stops at my house. I wish I had a marble cannon to play with....still looking for that item. I will say I'm very happy they are coating them with dust, lutz, copper, etc. dead giveaway to hit the 'next' button. In 30 years I may change my mind. But today, I think these marbles are damaging the vintage market and you can't tell them or sellers what they really have and what the value of them is....they think they are 'gold'. So I can't change minds or even help them with their item listing. Maybe it's not the marbles...but the marketing of them I don't like. -

Those are Great!!!!!! Nice score. Thanks for sharing!!! Love the Wild finds. -
Hello!! Your pic's look pretty good Galen. Winnie, the one on the right looks the best IMO. Is that the correct color for the grey? Okay here we go..... REMEMBER I didn't take the setup picture with my camera, so they are not so hot. Here's everything set up...using a monitor for my Live output. Also grey background to shoot. Notice my lights are behind my camera. Sort of lined up with the corner edge of the tent. Camera is above the subject. If you camera is heavy you might have to weight down the tripod. There's my Live preview/output so I can make sure everything is right. So here's the money shot..... Hope that helps!!
-
Winnie, alot of this is your camera settings. Most likely need to use: Custom/Program mode ISO: 50/Auto Light: Custom White Back/Tungsten...... I've been use Custom...grey card Macro: 5.6FL Drive: 2 seconds Largest Image format Super Fine I center my lights with the camera lens left to right and about 1" behind my camera. and I use an output monitor so I can see what I'm doing with a live preview......using half shutter click to focus. Hope that helps

I'm not sure of a name for the large white one. The blue is nice with a black stripe running in it. Both band has it. That spot you see on it is cool. It's a 9 with a tail trailing off it. LOL

Those are S U P E R Guys!!!!!!! :happy-857:

Look at that!!! Almost no shadow. Make sure you set the light setting to tungsten, that's what those lights are. I also, kill ever other light in the room. I only got blue/black/white for my background choices, you got more. Macro setting as well, 2 sec. delay. I also use a monitor for the output, can't use the small screen with these eye's!!!

Hi. Thought I'd show off some Blue Peltiers!!! Hope to see some of your group pictures as well. Enjoy!!
