Left-handed MFC 9 & Tail
rockgardenplants replied to stephenb's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
That is a beauty! -
@Steph Well, you answered my question! I didn't think of those little fingers using much smaller marbles than 3/4" for shooters. When I was a "Den Mother" (hahahahahaha) the Cub Scouts could earn a metal clip-type accomplishment award to put on their belts. I'll bet you can guess which award they earned first... Yep! MARBLES!

I have one negative feedback in the last year. The buyer was really upset claiming that I doctored the photos, sent the wrong marbles etc... I even sent a few additional marbles to see if we could work things out that way but I still got a Negative from the buyer. I have had great transactions with 99.9% of my buyers but there's always the opportunity for someone to mess with my auctions. I know that I don't receive feedback from all of my buyers even though I leave positive feedback for all of my buyers. We'll see what happens when the auction is finished! Oh, the suspense!

Colorized old black and white marble playing
rockgardenplants replied to bumblebee's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
Wow! Those colorized photos are really sweet! The second one from the top is a favorite. Just a few kids in a rural neighborhood playing for keeps! I'd love to see the mibs that they are playing with. Thanks for sharing. Kind Regards, rockgardenplants -
fremmur_0 ? I have an auction going for over 3500 marbles and this ebayer has bid twice and is the current high bidder. No feedback, no auction wins, no Buy It Now, no selling. A member since Dec 03, 2019. Recently I have had a couple of auction winners refuse to pay or payment is made, but the buyer files a dispute with ebay, sends the marble(s) back and receives a refund. The auction winners have had the same modus operandi as this ebay member. Anyone with info on what this bidding pattern is telling me, please let me know your opinion. Kind Regards, rockgardenplants (orange_orbital on ebay)

Yep, more than likely out-of-print, but I've already found a few online. Just picked one up for $37.50... sweet! -

Such an odd duck, eh? So is the Akro that I posted. As I get more into my Dad's collection I keep finding some really cool marbles. Before he passed 5 years ago he had sold all the marbles that he identified (loved Popeyes!) and if there was something he wasn't familiar with he would put it in one of his "LATER" boxes.

Today In The Wild...
rockgardenplants replied to rockgardenplants's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
@Steph Are the blue / ivory (UV glow) marbles Vitro? Do they have a nickname? As for the Aqua Jewels, I found 10 for $4 each! And, yes, the bags are crisp and clean. The only drawback is that the seller at the antique store put the price on with tape on top of the header card... Ugh! -

COCA-COLA MESH BAG; WHICH MARBLES?
rockgardenplants replied to rockgardenplants's topic in Marble I.D.'s
@wvrons So, how can I tell if this is one of the 99% or the 1%? -
Gold aventurine Master Marble; 63/64"; Whaddya think?
rockgardenplants replied to rockgardenplants's topic in Marble I.D.'s
I will add some more info... On each of the poles, the typical Master Marble "seams" with "eye lashes" are easily visible. Then again I can see similar "seams" at the poles in the photo Steph has above this reply. Steph, are there "eye lashes" at the poles on the Vacor Sunsets? Sheesh... what's a person to do? Not jumping to an ID is certainly one of the things I need to do. Thanks for the info. G'night everyone! -
COCA-COLA MESH BAG; WHICH MARBLES?
rockgardenplants replied to rockgardenplants's topic in Marble I.D.'s
Thanks! -
I have had this mesh bag for quite some time. It's in fabulous condition. There are three different marble types in the bag. Most have a transparent base with white swirls on the surface and then dive into the marble. There are three that have an opaque base and, of course, there just had to be a yellow catseye in the bag These look like Playrite, or Alox to me. Any info on these would be great. Yes, this is listed on eBay.
