My good friend M went to the WV show this year and did some shopping. She agreed to pick up any interesting Masters and snakes. This is part one of what she picked up. I'd say, very good taste, and I am quite happy with them all. The robust hybrid snake glows and is a near shooter, as is the Master in this first set of pictures. John

Well, that is exactly what the issue is and, well said. More fitted.

This one recently was ID'd here as Champion, and to help others learn, and keep the archives growing, I will post it here as well. Shooter size on this one. John

Happy to learn about this one. So lucky to be you. Thanks for the post! John

Pattern is more Alley, but the white is very bright and contrasting. Maybe I will keep it halfway between my CACs and Alleys! Thanks all! John

Thanks for clearing this up. A champion. And glad too it wasn't Cairo, and whoever ID'd the one I saw, was wrong too. Glad because it didn't fit in terms of color, pattern or, I learned, size. Happy to know. Thanks! John

I'd be happy to have it with them! John

Yes, Ravenswood would be another guess for me...mostly based on that color in the ribbons.

Steph, for what it's worth, it came out of a VERY nice jar. Since sorting it, I haven't really been able to confirm any mibs in that jar past, like 1950...which isn't to say that one didn't sneak in either! I know that happens too! I didn't have knowledge of Cairo's known sizes either...but now that you mention it, all mine are smaller sizes. John

This one is bigger, at 0.76" and I've seen this very one ID'd as Cairo...but wondering what other's think. It really lacks some cardinal Cairo features and colors. It is a bit back and forth, and it is biased with color on one side. I'll post it over in the Cairo thread if there is some consensus. Thanks! John

At 0.64" this is interesting to me, and wonder would others here might think. I'm still wobbly on swirls and I seem to get some right, and others wrong. I'll never be 'there' with swirls. This one has very contrasting white and no blending, which could mean it is CAC, but I'm just not sure. Thanks in advance. John

Welcome Dave. I think Steph has it! The middle on the bottom, weirdly, might actually be an Akro cork that corked poorly...but I'd need to see some other angles to support that claim. Mine (an Akro) matches your pale red and blue colors...very pale. I believe I haven't photographed that one yet...nor, at this moment, am I sure I could even find it without some effort. John

Interesting. Despite the appearance in these photos, the metal does match up nicely with other metallic mibs I have in other marbles. I don't see that there is any evidence of AV associated with this marble. John

Steph, oh yes, I forgot to mention that this is a UV screamer. John

Well I think so too, but I only saw another comparable like it...that always makes me nervous a bit. But I like Pelt too! John

Thanks for the nod on that egg yolk. I was just working with this one just now, and thought I'd post. Maybe others would think it is unspectacular too, but I'd disagree. I really dig the browns in with the reds, but this one is as minty fresh as could be. I like it! Thought I'd share this one too. John

A metallic rainbo....maybe (something nags at me...that it isn't a Pelt..). If not, I will delete! John

Nice to have you here! Post more mibs! John

Welcome to marbles! The best hobby, in my opinion, that you can have. I'd say hang in there...the first several hundred hours of study can be rough! Don't get frustrated, figure out what you are interested in, and be patient. Look at your marbles, put them away, then take them out again. Work on IDs, watch threads, but be OK with the fact that you can't always figure them all out right away or ever. Follow your passion, collect what you like, be patient (unless you have deep pockets) about purchases...trust me, there will always be marbles to buy. I've found organizing them, and photographing them and making an inventory is a great way to go for your keepers. John

Something lady, is hilarious. Reminds me that I call some of those blue Pelts super-whatevers...cuz I'm lazy about well known marbles. I spend my time with the un-named, more frequently. I'm adopting 'something ladies' from now on. John

I agree Steph. I think the color here is not in the MFC line. But that is just an opinion!
