Those are nice group of red slags up there Road Dog. I save all that I find irrespective of condition. John

Those are some nice red mibs! I too hoard many of these forms shown. I agree with you Ric, I was using a more restricted definition of a bloodie before seeing that picture. What do others think? John

Good to know. Learning something every day.

Yes some kind of one! Beyond that, who knows, I sure don't for sure! I couldn't even say for certain anymore if made over here or over there. I just know they are old and I like 'em. I just say melted pontil transitional with carbonation is a safe call! John

I know, I know, not colorful. I don't care...I'm crazy about browns, and hues of brown and tan; colors of mud and dirt and wood. This beautiful mahogany cork with blended brown and grey is some kind of Everest for me, when it comes to corks. Tiny fleas throughout sure...but hey, at least I have a placeholder! I might never find another. Keep me in mind when you want to get rid of those lousy dark brown corks. I'll give them a good home! john

Some super nice looking marbles up there everyone. Nice to see the agates get their day. Fished this out of a file of pictures...somewhat randomly.

Funny. I read this just after sorting slags for, I think somewhere short of a thousand times. I always 'see' things differently the next time around. I almost always find something interesting in there if I let time get in the way between sorts. This time, I had just extracted another little Pelt slag in great condition (back lit it is as yellow as I can get them to go). Missed it the first 999 times around, as I often do, because either I didn't have the right light, or the right frame of mind or the right angle or was distracted by work/phone/news/music/fatigue (called marble brain around here) or something. I'm the sort of collector that sorts and sorts again, and shakes it all down, and gets rid of marbles I don't want eventually...but not until I am sure sure sure the sort is done. Even then, you know I've missed stuff, passed on things previously, and found some real oddballs that way. Oh, the ones that got away...

I know that green in that one of Richard's up there. It's one of those pesky colors that is really tough to get in a photo. Nice mib!

Indeed! A Superior with an inferior exterior. But I still like it!

That's an interesting jewel tray up there with those helmets! john

Time for a vaseline slag. (I might have posted this before, but don't think so...if so, I guess you'll all have to suffer again, sorry!) John

For those of you that would hope that a marble called a Sunset should have the plausible colors seen during a Sunset (which seems like a reasonable argument for sure), if it isn't there then it shouldn't be, and so green and blue should be out of the Sunset group, But, I'll point out the two optical phenomenon sometimes seen for a second or so at sun-up and sun-down known as the green flash and blue flash...the blue flash is much much rarer but the green is rare too. I might be splitting hairs (LOL, I really am) because it is such a brief event, but there it is! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Green_flash John

Nice showy Vitros being added up there, surely. Far too many to single out of the pack.....and but the black helmet still eludes me. Nice. I'll find one in my hunts eventually.

I totally agree. I'll take a nice Pelt anyway for sure, but those pulled and folded seams sure are great. Nice ones just up there! John

I can't quite tell either. How about Vacor Roosters?

Terrific marbles up there Scott! I picked this one out of a jar just yesterday...all twisted up, near equal parts green and yellow.
