  1. Ahhhh ! Thanks Steph for the reality check 🙂. It’s always a learning experience here for me . What a cool looking marble though, and it’s going to have a special place in the display case. I will file it under “Blue Alien”
  2. I would love to see photos of those brown ones , just for prospective and comparison. 👍
  3. Yep I have a couple of Alox translucent swirls that are very similar . There’s probably a handful of those WV companies that could easily pump out this marble ... I might be splitting hairs here .
  4. Oh man that's a sweet Pelt , I believe it's nickname is 7-up !
  5. Here’s a view of the pinch or crease , about 10’ o clock on the marble.
  6. This may be one of those marbles that is not going to be positively identifiable . She's 5/8 with a translucent aqua blue that reminds me of blue Jello gelatin. It has one thick , creamy white swirl that looks like iceing . I have heard that Cairo Novelty made marbles similar to this where the fieldmark being a 9-like swirl that covers 1/4 of the marble, and the rest of the marble is relatively void of swirling. There are no seams but it seems to have sort of a pinch pontil on it that I should upload a picture of. Any thoughts on this girl ?
  7. Thanks guys ! It’s my new favorite piece !
  8. Well it finally happened today, I found my first Oxblood hidden in an Atlas jar filled with contemporary Chinese marbles at an antique shop . I’ve heard stories like this before but I never thought it would happen to me. $12.00 ! Sold ! Someone pinch me !
  9. Thankyou Steph ! Once I actually see a "brick" in-person , it will clear up for me I believe. id-wise
  10. It's 5/8 " .Thanks for any opinions or insights !
  11. Would I be correct in calling this a "brick" ? There's no Oxblood in it but it's much more opaque overall and a different shade of red thank my other slags ...
  12. I saw a creative thread on Facebook and wanted to start one here. Post you marble photos that have recognizable images or patterns on them . An obvious one would be a Turkey Swirl but the there are some that really garner your attention. I’ll start with my “Safety Pin” ...
  13. It's gorgeous Vance !
  14. I never stopped to think of it as a corkscrew , but yep the black is unbroken and it sure has an Akro color scheme / vibe. Thanks Steph !
  15. Hi all, I have this beautiful vintage , bold orange piece with a little red blending in , just under 5/8 " . Any is suggestions or discussion would be very appreciated , thanks !
  16. Thanks Sclsu , I think you nailed it.
  17. Hi all , I have this odd milkglass vintage marble , with a nice red bean bordered in black , theres a fold in the middle of the red area. Any ideas on who the maker could be ?
  18. Thankou for the valuable information shared in this thread ! I think I'll buy "American machine made marbles" and take it from there ,so much to learn and grateful that there are so many publications available .
  19. Great ! Thanks for the identification all !
  20. It's about 9/16" could this be what they call a "double ingot " marble . the colors are vivid and I'm very sure it's vintage. Thanks for any input !
  21. photo 4 is the last quarter turn , showing a third seam , the last photo is sort of a view from the north pole
  22. Hi all , can anyone help to narrow down an ID on this beauty ? here's the first three photos of the marble with quarter turns going clockwise showing two seams . At first the orange color appears brushed but its not.
