  1. Hi all, I got this bunch of colorful vintage pastel marbles today. At first I thought they were Marble Kings but I'm not so sure. Maybe just the odd green/black/red one is ? I need experienced eyes ! Please let me know what you think , thankyou !
  2. Hi all ! , I got three new lots today from a local , super nice price and mibs are in amazing condition. I would like to get help looking at the first lot. The blues are an out-of-this-world deep blue . I don't think the lighting was right to really see it .Anyway I think I have a bunch of Christensen slags here . They are definitely machine made, please tell me what you think . I picked out what looks like the 9's first Thanks !
  3. I just did a websearch on Cairo Novelty Company, interesting story and quite possibly what this marble is. Thanks !
  4. Thanks Steph for your help ! I think I understand now that : a "slag" has a transparent base with an opaque white swirl inside the core of the marble , interesting !
  5. Hi all ! I picked this up yesterday. Here’s a vintage marble that looks like a left handed Turkey Swirl . Could it just be a happy accident? Maybe an Akro slag ? It’s in great condition. Thanks for any replies!
  6. Good eye Craig ! That was one of the few oddballs in my entire lot. A real busted up marble with a translucent aqua blue base and a perfect corkscrew winding all around it. I’m not sure who the maker would be but it’s a good candidate for a rock tumbler treatment imo .
  7. Aha Vitro makes sense .OK thanks Steph !
  8. Ok thankyou for the Peltier Rainbow tip ! Yes the other two on the bottom are Corkscrews . maybe I'll make a separate thread for the purple , and odd blue...thankyou !
  9. Wow great stuff Steph ! Thanks for your help !
  10. It's also not in the same condition as the rest of the lot , It's got a few more miles on it lol
  11. It seems very dense , nothing whispy about this marble . the most noticeable fieldmark on it is : the edge where the black meets the white is extremely defined , real sharp border between the colors . Also , one pole has a pretty distinct "V" the other pole has a v as well but a little more like a "U"
  12. Hi all , Can anyone help ID this guy ? I got him at the flea market two weeks ago and I'm stumped. it's a standard marble size.... Thanks for any help !
  13. Hi all ! Iv'e separated the blues out from today's lot that I bought . Some of the marbles have a milky blue base color . Can anyone help to ID them ? Thankyou !
  14. The three at the bottom of the photo have an uninterrupted corkscrew line.
  15. Hi all ! Iv'e separated some marbles out by color from today's lot . These are the reds, and are generally the same condition and swirly style. Can anyone help to ID them ? Thankyou !
  16. for the black and white patch : there's no Aventine to it . I bought the whole lot for $50.00 , maybe a little steep, but I had to have those Popeyes !
  17. OK thanks for the ID help ! I don't have a black-light but yes the black and white marble is a little different from the others , the white color on it is slightly different ,and there's more wear to that marble. I don't have a black-light so I will have to pick one up... thanks !
  18. Hi all ! I got a lot of 230 marbles today.About 60 of them were filler pieces, but the rest were nice . I think the price was reasonable but I'm not sure if we are allowed to discuss price here. Most all the marbles are in excellent condition . Could you confirm that the first group I separated out are Akro Agate popeyes ? Would some from the next group be Akro Agate patches ? Thanks for any help, more to come...
  19. No, not yet ..it’s at an estate coming up , I’d like to see it in person first. I’m very interested though and hopefully I will get it . I am going to another one tomorrow and hope to come up with a good haul ! It looks promising and will post on the boards here’s If I get something. Fingers crossed xx
  20. Thanks Bumbebee , I had a few of those when I was a kid , I remember I had one that was orange/black/red . I must collect a few, they strike a chord in me !
  21. Thanks for posting ! That would look great if you had the clear models. What are some of the black-banded marbles called in the bottom half of your right tray ? They are so cool !
  22. Thanks Steph ! Lots of eye candy in there . I think I see a glazed clay marble in the bottom left near the green swirl in the second pic .
