I'll bet this is kiln brick too w/ a trapped air bubble around it making it appear as a piece of metal ?? Either way a nice keeper Brother -

Just a recommendation but @ least a 5000k daylight bulb will do wonders @ least it did for me. Here's a link that may help out a bit w/ pictures, all cheap & easily acquired w/ some fantastic results. You might give Matthew a try, I know he's polished some Germans for a few board members in the past, here's a link to his YouTube site and Email address. There is a vid on his site of some polishing he has done in the past. LINK :: https://www.youtube.com/@MarbleGems/videos Email :: [email protected]

x2, Alley her also, do you have something blue sitting to the left of the marble ? Or a blue shade on the light being used ?
-
x2, agree, 2nd one is better, I only use macro when I'm taking extremely close up pix like this and always under artificial light when I do so I can focus the light in the desired area w/o any glare. I think this was w/ only a 20w daylight bulb if I remember right ?? Lots of playin around w/ many different bulbs, and yes a 5000k daylight bulb or better is best.
