Josephs Coat, I have larger Coats with one faceted and one melted pontil though most of them are smaller and have 2 unfinished. Yours is probably older, not exhibiting the Brighter colors the Germans put on them in the late Victorian Era. The earlier ones often have one faceted and one melted pontil and are of a larger size than the latter, the majority being around or just over an inch. They were smaller and had two unfinished pontils making faster production for the ever increasing English game board market. The smaller size of yours's does surprise me a bit though, still a Josephs Coat IMO.

yes, i call it the monster

Onion skin with a white underlying skin and 4 panels of other colors stretched over the white skin, no colored core but a semi sort of ghost core, this marble was still over 2 inches from pole to pole, a nice marble at one time, but a nice example to keep around. A four panel, two of red and two of blue at one time before it was annihilated.

A wise decision, be careful my Friend, if they all look to good or to much alike, well you know what they are, not Akro

IDK some of the mag pictures look suspicious to me, be careful Brother, almost to good to be true, never forget, there is a reason you are questioning ??

i can't be sure without a closeup of one of them, be a bummer if they were all Vacor, that's why i was questioning, ht find a bunch of slags like that not all beat up as you know. what are they asking for it if i may ask Tommy ??

Not an onionskin. There is no underlying skin covering the surface of the marble. Onionskins have an underlying skin of white or yellow most usually but could be any other color, with any combination of other colors stretched from pole to pole, more than often than not paneled.. That's where the name "Onion Skin" is derived from. Not a Josephs coat, not an onion skin, can't be a ghost core since there is no core of any kind. IDK exactly what to call it but the roughed up and pitted pontils and smooth surface of the marble just are not correct, someone has altered this marble whatever you want to call it.

Machin mades started between 1910 -1920 I don't see any visible handmades. If you have a few you think are take a few pix and someone will chime in and tell you if they are or not. Handmades were mostly made in Germany Between 1850-1910. Handmades are easily differentiated from machine mades. They can even be dated by how they were made. If you do take any pix please show the Pontil (if present) and any visible seams so the Manufacturer can be identified. Usually for a good I.D, a shot of any seams and each side 4-6 shots to show the entire marble. It may seem slow but you'll get a more positive I.D. that way "Thank You"

Lots of Cats, over half and a lot of Vitro also. Not seeing any handmade, all machine made, might be some buried I can't see.

Hmmm, the pontils are rough and pitted and the rest of the marble is mirror smooth, no makers marks or anything, something's funky !! Someone has messed with this marble IMO. I believe it has been polished and an attempt at making it appear to have pontils has been made.

I remember when you had those made, most excellent !!
