  1. That's one nice piece, Joep! You definitely scored on it. I might have guessed Westmoreland Glass myself. As Chad mentioned, alot of the animal slag you will find out there are 2- piece in the form of bowls, candy dishes, etc; but there are also some pieces by various companies that were made for other uses. By the way, how big is your Lion? And could you take a picture of the bottom? Once again, not Akro, but nice "Slag Glass Score" πŸ‘
  2. Lol, right! We decided to play $40, keep $60. Out of the $40 played, won $27 back. Sitting at $87 with a $67 profit and standing pat 😊
  3. Quotes such as this make me happy that I have become a part of such a passionate, wonderful group of people here. Love this hobby 😊
  4. Not really considered an "interest" per say, but bought a couple of $5 scratchers and hit a decent one πŸ‘
  5. My good friend made his rounds this morning, his last day after 11 years...I took down my 5 year service bat off the wall this morning for the first time in 10 years too preserve the memories....1 by 1 I will be adding signatures until it's full.
  6. I like that Pelt Tiger, Chris...fully expect to see it next Tuesday πŸ‘
  7. Liked what Gladys did for Pelt Tuesday so here's my quick tribute to West Virginia Wednesday before I head to work 😊
  8. Yes, pics of the Alley box would be great πŸ‘
  9. Whoops, got in a hurry towards the end, Dinner bell was ringing and someone around here gets cranky when the food gets cold! Glad it "fits" though 😏
  10. So it begins, as I expected it would. We haven't heard a peep from Rawlings since it's big announcement of Miken's closing, but some of the more experienced people are moving on. My longtime friend Mike Kasten will be departing after this week for City Brewery in Lacrosse, Wisconsin. He has accepted a position on 3rd shift The money is good and their contribution too 401k is quite generous from what he tells me. He started at Miken 2 years after I did as a molder and by 2013 became 2nd shift Supervisor. Covid19 came along, taking away both that title and 2nd shift. Also, a young man I trained personally for the title of lead in the Surface Prep department 6 years ago for day shift had his interview Friday in Onalaska, Wisconsin for a 3rd shift position at a cheese factory that will pay him $22 an hour starting. I'll miss them both for sure! Alot of experience and talent that will be missed! There's only a few left, me included, that have done and worked every process there. Now minus 2. Can't say I can blame them, nobody knows what the job market will be like a year from now when this place projects too be closing the doors. With winter around the corner, I'm going to stick around for the time being, after much thought of course. Roll the dice. My focus is still with Precision Stainless around the corner from Miken. But not yet, going to keep riding for the time being!
  11. I posted in the Lounge regarding a visit today by Patty's sister and her 2 kids. The youngest, Toby, is the one I gifted the jar of marbles to. They were here still when I got home from work, and before they left with their bounty of veggies. I said "hold on a second". I came back outside with a suprise. I told Toby that I neglected to give him a "shooter" last time and handed him a big Cats Eye. Then Emily, who is a senior this year, I surprised her with a real nice jumbo Jabo with its own little O-ring. She loves it, saying how beautiful it was. Then suddenly there was talk of playing marbles when they got home! Oh boy, I had too hurry back inside and get another shooter for her so she didn't use her nice one! Great day!
