Have a Happy Easter! 🐰

I put all 3 on light, the marble at the top of the pic looks purplish while the other two pretty similar. Thanks all!

The purple geode was picked up years ago by my fiance in Mexico. It was bigger, twice as big, but a child dropped it and broke it in half. She ended up giving half too her so she wouldn't cry!

The animals that I think are Mexican are the burro, dog, elephant and horse. The turtle, dove, and two smaller birds are crafted from agate

The first 3 pics are about the size of my fist. The big purple one probably about softball size. The turtle is 5 inches long. The burro, elephant, scottie dog and dove fit in the palm of my hand and the horse and two birds are a little over an inch.

Here are a few of my geode specimens along with my little pet family...also added a shot of a color treated agate slab I bought for my lady on Valentine's day 😊

Picked up what was as an Aventurine marble from a rock and fossil display yesterday. Thought it was a cool piece...

Two marbles that needed a closer look...green one is 3/8 and the other is 7/8. Like the larger one with its multi-browns and touch of lavender.

Nice! I'll have to take a few pics of some geodes I have around the house 😊
-
I'll have too get a few more pics of that one then. It is interesting looking in hand.

Thanks for checking in on these, Steph! I'll get that last one out tommorow morning sometime and snap a few more views 😊

I've got two saws, belts, various hand held tools and a nice little tumbler. Plan on shaping them somewhat, removing some of the rough, then tumbling. I've got trays of uncut pieces that I know are going to be beautiful when I open them up. Thinking about making some jewelry from some also. Would be fantastic to see some pics of what others have! My fiance actually wants to go up too Lake Superior for her 50th birthday this year. I'm sure the beaches are picked frequently but wading out about waist/chest deep, might be a different story 😊

Sorry about that, I'll cut it back too posting only a few at a time next time, and do 2-3 pics of each. I actually like that green one with all the bubbles and white wisps through it. The one that appears too be black with yellow is actually a very dark rootbeer colored glass. The two groups of peltiers I have too clean up a bit. Thank you Chad and sorry for the abundance!

Lol, you got that right

Debating on cleaning it up but like you said, kinda suprising it never shattered! Luck would have it I would lose chunks or worse 😬

I picked up this one with a small box at a thrift store a couple months ago. It's definitely seen it's days. You just can see the green, yellow and blue in some of the shots. It measures an inch and a quarter. Old German?

I made mention a couple times in posts that I also enjoy agate hunting, or being a rockhound as they call us. Well, in recent months I have gathered the necessary tools and equipment too start working on some of the specimens I have gathered the past few years. Here are some pics of some of them in raw from-the-earth form and the last 3 pics will be the finished product. The one you see as a finished product is a Sardonyx Banded River Agate from Madagascar. Mine won't have near as many bands but still should come out nice! Pretty excited! Plan too start on these this late spring or early summer in my garage. Thought I would share 😊

Oops, plethora I meant. Sorry didn't catch that 😊

Marble on...liking the sound of that! It would be fun too attend events like that. Did a rock show last year, it's like a kid in a candy store. Literally awestruck by the gorgeous agate specimens I examined. I could imagine the marbles at such a show, a palithera of tiny works of art! One day I can hopefully attend one. Thanks for the conversation, your a standup guy for sure, along with others I have corresponded with during my brief time here. Marble on indeed!

I rarely travel very far, basically staying in the extreme southeast Minnesota area. Lots of small towns with the closest cities being Rochester and Lacrosse, Wisconsin. Both are about an hour drive. With work (caregiver and sporting goods manufacturer) and the home life don't get many chances too go very far. Pretty much have to settle for poking around the nooks and crannies of the neighboring towns when time allows. Still fun when I can do it. 😊
