I'm glad you "resurrected" this thread, Ann....I absolutely love sharing other non-marble related collectibles. Sharing them AND seeing the "eye candy" of others! Do take note though that some of what I share comes from Patty's collections (with permission 🤣)...she's not into marbles like I am. With that said, I find it peculiar that when missing a marble, I find it displayed in her collections? 🤔 I'm such a pushover, I more often than not don't get them back either 😊

Nice topic, Tommy...I know I have some somewhere...hopefully join the fun soon...😉

Great discussion....another one too be looked back upon from time to time IMO 😊👍

Amen too this, Andi....I would venture to say most of us have jumped into the marble world similar to the way you did! As stated by Ron and others here and in your other thread, slow it down and do some research before investing. Me, I used the advice my mother gave me regarding railroad tracks when I was kid, following the first "mistakes" I made with aquiring marbles..."Stop...Look...and Listen"... Temper your temptations to spend until you get somewhat of a handle on things. It wouldn't hurt to ask someone here either for advice on future purchases either. Share a picture, a link, etc., and I'm sure someone here would gladly offer an experienced opinion! Have fun 😊

Jabo character marbles need help with identification of them
William replied to andi's topic in Marble I.D.'s
I'm fairly new too this aspect of collecting also, Andi. I've collected anything from antiques to sports cards for the past 35-40 years. But only got into the marble side of things a couple years ago. These folks here at MarbleConnection, they have been doing this for a very long time, some 10 years, some 20, 30, 40, even some a lifetime. Some attend marble shows nationwide. Some have been too the marble factories when they were operating. And some, after they closed, dug at these old factory sites for marbles nobody ever saw. The knowledge is very deep here indeed, so jump in, take your time, and slowly absorb what these folks have put into words and pictures here at MarbleConnection. You will become familiar with a handful of the "regulars" such as Chad, Steph, Ron, Ann, Chuck (cheese), Art (akroorca), and a few others (sorry if I didn't mention 😊),that are tirelessly checking in here too assist, report, share, or simply enjoy each other's company. It's a great place. Really like a second family too me IMO! Enjoy and have a blast! Oh yeah, check out Stephen Bahr, who is also a member here, and his tutorial videos on marbles and manufacturers on YouTube. Top notch learning experience 👍 -

Looking like you have a mix of modern and vintage marbles. Don't be discouraged if some have little too no value. All part of the learning curve. Plus it's also about what you like! Try posting a few at a time, a few shots of each, including the seams and/or cutlines, and I'm sure someone will assist you in identifying what they are. Someone might also highlight something in that pile if it catches their eye and want some extra looks. -

Vintage sterling silver ring set with an amazing hunk of Amber. Early 20th century Russian, around 1910...

Another little project I finished last week. Before, my little Willow's base was circled with ordinary, red border stone. Decided to switch it up and give it a nice mulch bed flanked by little flower boxes 😊 My yard, roughly 75% of it, is a steady slope. Not really too steep but a steady grade nonetheless. That's how it goes when you live at the base of a hill!

Front Gate too the Steam Engine Grounds at the end of South Main. Just inside the gates, Memorials dedicated to all our local men and women who served, and still serve, in the Armed Forces 🇺🇸

Well, it's that time of year again...snuck down to the grounds for a sneak peek at the old Steam Engines. Hopefully the forecasted rain (60% Saturday, 70% Sunday) doesn't damper the parade so that we can't admire these Iron Horses going through Downtown 😊 It's always a spectacle too this old machinery running AND after the parade too see how they were used so many years ago! I also had a nice suprise...the 95' Jaguar I shared in the non marble related "eye candy" made a cameo appearance with the Steam Engines!

I don't consider myself "Shellfish", I try not to "Mako" a "Bass" out of myself, and I "Whalecome" any good joke, whether there on me or not. I think I am feeling the traits of the Clownfish fit me at times....

It's really tough too be sure, when I enlarge the pictures, too confirm if what I'm seeing is the tiny, telltale bubbles affiliated with Peltier. If only you could get some pics that were up close and in focus. I take my pictures exclusively with my phone, and there are some mibs that are tough to capture. I will find myself dancing around with the "zoom" feature, for an eternity it feels like sometimes, just too capture detail. Still sticking with Peltier, though. You still might get a few more opinions....😊

Not the same, but I remember thinking about bumblebee's OP bird that started this nice thread when I flipped from July to August. Yeah, I wish I could see one too...I do get Indigo Buntings for a few weeks in the Spring though, along with some Bluebirds, Red Breasted Grosbeaks, and an occasional Scarlet Tanager. Wish these birds mentioned hung around longer than they do!

I'm on the Peltier wagon for all 3 mibs too...thinking that marble #1, the color(s) just "bled" more too one side. We all probably have Pelts, maybe of this variety of Rainbo or another, with this characteristic. Just MHO...😊
