    MK

The Blue Galaxy was made by Peltier, I don’t think MK made one…… although these days names pop up new all the time so who knows. But let’s stick to what was always called that, the Pelt! jon
  2. Not seeing CAC here, maybe Pelt like but not CAC jon
  3. Looks like a road and tunnel to me, I’m saying CAC! Just to fight the system! jon
  4. Technically not a slag which has white on transparent base. I’d guess Asian transitional. jon
  5. Bright yellow at 5/8” w/ black stripes thanks jon
  6. A strange one at 7/8”, but pretty plain for Jabo! ??? thanks jon
  7. New pics of one that no one was sure about. Opaque at 5/8” thanks jon
  8. Found this one in the questionables drawer, Akro? Jabo? thanks jon
  9. A tough one from those pics. It looks like a 9 in the one pic but no seam like a CAC would have. However both CAC and Akro did hand gathering early im told. But I lean Akro. ion
  10. I put two Atmospheres up on eBay last week not expecting any great response and was shocked at the bidding!! I had not sold anything on eBay in several years and have just renewed my interest in marbles. I have purchased several recently from some of you and went through my “extras” to raise a few dollars to get more collectibles. I also have one sales bag with three more inside but will hold onto that. Again, sold both for over 200 each and very surprised!! jon
  11. Those colors just don’t look like Pelt Xmas tree colors to me and it has no seam and not swirly enough for a so called Miller swirl! I’m surprised someone hasn’t said Jabo!! Lol jon
  12. Akro! I don’t think that’s a seam but a fold, as many of these have folds like that plus no road and tunnel or shaky edging on the white. Still a beauty though! jon
  13. You may be right, looks close but colors a little off. But best so far! thanks jon

    CAC??

Found this one while going through my CAC drawer and am wondering if it was lost! I have not a clue, 5/8”, opaque base but can’t tell what color. Thanks jon
  15. Great! Well that’s one place to sell, but only once a month. What cut does he take? And do you sell on eBay too? I know several of those who post here do as I have purchased mibs from them. jon
  16. Also Bob Block just had an online auction and you can check prices on over 300 marbles that just sold this weekend. There are also several other lists of previous sales he had too. However, his prices and those of some other sales sites are top of the line and mostly mint stuff. I think you do have to watch eBay and even there I’ve noticed a wide range of sales prices. You and I are not going to pull in the bids Block and “grandpas” are getting. Study up on the main top of the line marbles that are usually easier to identify. Good luck jon
  17. I don’t know what to call it, blended, hybrid, but I love the color variation you find in the MKs! I don’t see any oxblood however, it’s usually heavier in MKs. jon
  18. Thanks for the kind words and advice. I went over the posts by Alan, very helpful and informative! And thanks for the thing about whitest whites. I had read somewhere that they were like CACs in whiteness and in complexity of swirls and ribbons. Also that the ribbons were often thicker and wider than other WVs and dove deep and often “bunched” on back side. I’ve been collecting pics from the ID posts of RVs but it would be nice to have a few in hand. I just got some photo equipment so will get some pics of a few of my favs here soon. Thanks again ya all. Jon
  19. I began collecting in 97 and got away from it 5 years ago because of a cancer battle and have recently gotten back into collecting as my health improved. I collected mostly MFCs, CACs, AKROs, Pelts and MKs. And I have a wide selection of those and understand their differences and ids. Now I’m turning to Ravenswood but they are more subtle in style and there isn’t much in identification other than a little gleaned from some of your posts. Any advice on styles and IDing them would be much appreciated, ditto on what’s “common” and what’s of value as they seem to be getting more popular. I have purchased from some of you and do appreciate your wider knowledge. Most of what I have read in books has been short, sweet and generally vague when it gets down to points to look for. Thanks for any advice up front! peace jon
  20. Grandpas marble site has a submarine at 2/3” in near mint that sold for $145! You can also look on eBay under German marbles handmade and get an idea what others are worth. You will be surprised, they are all vintage collectable and you have a great treasure! jon
