Marbles games you play
B-rett66 replied to Big Billy red beard's topic in Marble Runs & Marble Games
Big Belly Red Beard, What would you call that table, and where might they sell those. I've never seen one. -
Ok, makes since. What about the damage you see on the big German made and Sulfide marbles. Was there games they played with those marbles. Seems like I come across a lot of those that are really dinged up and hazy.

Ok I’m curious. Need some schoolin. On one of the other threads guys are taking about marble games. The game I’m curious about is where you try to knock your opponents marbles out of a ring with a big shooter. Now I know a regular marbles usually 1/2 to 5/8 or so and a Shooter marble is at least an inch. I seen some really big marbles way over an inch that are all beat up. How big can a shooter marble be and how do you damage them so bad hitting a regular size marble. Like I said I’m just curious and need some schoolin. If there’s no limit I’m bringing a pool ball. 😁

Marbles games you play

My dad talked about playing when he was younger. I would say school yard game. A big circle was drawn and you put your marbles in the center and took turns trying to knock one outside the circle. It became yours. Those games on the ground look fun and I don't mind getting dirty but I can't get back up. LOL. I'd have to play the whole game on the ground. I guess I could build an elevated table or heck even play on a pool table. I use to shoot cheap marbles out of a sling shot and now I'm starting to look in the creek where we use to shoot them. -
My favorite is FREE ones. About like any food, i'm not picky especially if your buying.

Took this pic this morning on the way out the door. Looks like American Airlines is cropdusting again. I seen a little star there in the top middle and blowed it up. Can anyone make out what that is. Weather balloon, satellite, Death Star maybe a parachute. Looks like a redneck UFO. Check out that light bar.

Yeah, the snake didn’t die. He just has a limp now. 😁 Treetiger, Yeah that was a bad deal. The front wheel came off. When the forks hit the pavement it knocked me unconscious. I hit face first. An old man seen the whole thing. Later he told my mom and dad that he thought I broke my neck. I alway say God had his hand on me that day. All in all though I’m m mm pp ret ty nn ormal 🤪

I hunt deer with homemade equipment, including stone arrow heads. I once was bit by a snake. After several miserable days the snake died When I was 11 years old I lost 4 teeth in a bicycle accident, they had to replace the sidewalk

Awesome. I’ve been studying some Alley pics for another thread here and found some almost identical Alley pics of the blue and green. WOW thanks guys

At first I was leaning towards an Akro Onyx. After looking at some pics on Joe’s marble page I’m leaning towards the Alley now. The Akro has a smooth swirl look, where as the Alley almost has the flame look.

That case it may be a translucent colored marble. I used to have a military flashlight with the red lens. It would shine everything up close red to a point.

When we were kids, we used to take rides on Sunday afternoons with Dad in the truck. Back in those days the highway ran right past one of the big chemical factories where we live, by the way that’s where I work now. As we approached the factory that evening sun was starting to set, and we seen a large object coming towards us right outside the plant, going slow. The wind was blowing toward the object, and we couldn’t hear anything. I would’ve swore it was Star Trek USS enterprise. Dad stopped the truck and we got out and watched as it went over the factory very slowly. Eventually we saw that it was an airline jet as it got closer to us. Sure, freaked us out. I couldn’t believe how slow it was going. The next day when Dad got home from work, he said that some big wigs visited the plant from out of town. They must’ve wanted to see how big the was plant from the air. By the way, there was an airport about 25 miles away and I’m assuming that’s where they landed. another thing to realize is that around here most jets we see at 30,000 feet. This one look like it was cropdusting. I still get goosebumps.

Kiwigal, here is an example of a marble that glows orange under UV. Not the brightest but give an example. Some of them really pop.

Could the darker black and white marble be a Peltier skunk or panda by chance. Now that I look at it closer there is a tell-tale seam line.

You know, at first glance, I thought the green and blue marble might’ve been an Alley. It does have some wisp of flames. But more on the lines of a Flicker. I deleted this pic earlier, but then recovered it and posted it. Maybe it would help in identifying the Marble.

After reading thru the short Ravenswood book I acquired recently I looked through some of my unidentified marbles and may have possibly spotted some Ravenwood marbles. Any opinions. They do match some of the colors that are listed. Thanks
