I recently won an auction and these 14 Vitro marbles were in the lot. I believe they might be Tiger Eye Type 3 and range from 21/32 to 3/4 in diameter. The yellow pole is nice and round but some of the purple poles are kind of small and curved. They are all very nice but there may be a light fracture on one or two.

I checked my password manager for all my log in set ups for all kinds of other places than here and that included AAM. The one I used here was different than all my others and it has been changed today here. I worried a bit that somehow if my password was discovered here, the bad guys would try that same password on other places that I use my member name. I think if anyone used the same log in other places that they use here, maybe it wouldn't hurt to change those passwords. Thanks for the heads up STAFF and for all you do. Much appreciated.

I think I have to take new images of this one. If this is a Vacor, it is an older release and it looks like it took a wrong turn at Albuquerque. In that one image of the group of 6, I can see down into the marble and see some design in there. Here it is being ganged up on by modern Serpents I have on hand. ( Literally ) This one is in a bit worse condition than I had thought. Sharper images reveal it has been a player or rolled to my house from Ohl' Mehico.

OK, This is a non adjusted group of three sides. No tweaks, not for sharpness, color or light. I see specks in there, I think you might be able to see them too. I haven't a clue but this is pretty much what it looks like in my incandescent lighted man cave. I don't think I can do any better than this.

This one just has that aged look and feel. It has some playwear but not bad at all. I am fussy and this one will stay with me even with a few small contact marks. I was wondering if I have shown good enough images to dub this one Peltier National Line Rainbow. Does it have a name? Meh-be a "Cub Scout" Was I right? Done for the today. You guys and gals rock!

The colors are pretty much the same but one is much more defined. I have three, these collage shots below make a comparison between two for structure I suppose. If these are the same, can you tell us who made them and do they have any special name? Thank you kind marble people. I like this one best, my guess is going to be Alley from the pointed tips of the swirls.

Welcome to Marble Connection SacMatt. WVS is short for West Virginia Swirl and there were numerous marble makers that made similar swirl marbles. Therefore it is a general catagory of marble types that can be from different marble makers. Most often you will see the white base with one color swirls on it. There are some with colored bases and some with more than one color swirls. It is not easy, and sometimes almost impossible to determine which maker made what. There is a lot to learn with swirls identification but a general knowledge for rookies, (Like myself) is good to acquire. You'll find some more about them on this site and of course reading posts and asking questions. Here's a good link. https://marbleconnection.com/joemarbles/1Marble Picture Pages/26Marble Pictures Home Page.html

I always like to come across mixtures like that. Have fun! You will learn from this jar if you do the work. It will help you in your next batch when it comes along.

Older thread but a follow-up on my post a few posts above. My paperweights have a new place to hang out. (This also opened up some room in my bookcase He-he!) Got this at the Thrift store and it cleaned up nice. One more paperweight on it though and I think I'd be pushing it.

Thanks disco. I got stands all over the man cave. The larger size Legos are perfect to sort with. The smaller ones are best just for display. Beautiful and colorful marbles you have there.

Might have one of my best in here but I was "Sunday Sorting" and hopefully pulling Master Marbles. I am trying to study the difference between Akro and Master. The video on Master Marbles that Stephen Bahr made is a really good source. Anyway, here's some pretty problem free best of's in a nice felt lined box that I think I might have 90% right as Masters. I think I might have pulled some Master Brushed patches but a closer look will be later. Probably some Pelts in here, I'm guessing. On the Lego flat, I have to decide which are which. Study the seams, base glass and patches and such, have a great day people!

Thank you for responding Fire. I know Jack Hahn had a bunch at the NJ marble show last April. I hope he is doing OK. I am pretty sure he lost his wife not too long ago. Such a mellow guy. I guess I'll just have to wait til the next NJ show. I am sure that MK made millions of these newer marbles. Where they went or where they are going just seems to be a mystery to me.

I'm probably dreaming, but a Pelt 'Santa'?
The Nickel Guy replied to SequoiaBET's topic in Marble I.D.'s
Nope, not a Santa IMO but a very cool marble. I think that there are two distinct white parallel ribbons that circle a Santa inside of two single red ribbons, one on both outsides of the two white in the middle. Not sure offhand of the color base but watch Stephen Bahr's video. You can see one right on the video cover. Second one in. -
Watched earlier today. Hope there is an ongoing series like Alley Flames vs Christensen Flames. and so on. Comparing Ravenswood to Alley swirls and maybe a study on patches, comets, peerless, Akro. The stuff us Hoi Polloi struggle with. LOL Thanks Stephen Bahr, I would thank you on YouTube but I don't have an account to subscribe, comment or like there. Keep em coming.
