  1. Darla, I found another mixed-color gray corkscrew, this is the third yellow based one I've seen so far. Now I'm looking for them
  2. Mibstified, that orange and green, last post for March is BEAUTIFUL
  3. You're right, that is difficult to tell if it's a gray or a green, I was reading through some other posts, it is not a color, but a mixture of colors, the blues and greens had quite the effect on the chemistry of the reds and yellows. I'm good with that I've been collecting for a few years now, I should know more about the chemistry and development of these marbles. Probably about six years ago now, Alan gave me a copy of the patent that Akro had for the marble making, maybe I should start there. -Jessica
  4. I was curious about the note, can I ask where that is from? It's the first I've heard of seen of it, and it's making my imagination run wild, how old is it?
  5. The yellow/black 5/8" cork on top is for reference. 1/2" - 2nd row down, the blue/red cork 17/32" - 3rd row down, the black/opalescent and the black/blue corks , and the white corkscrew the transparent blue base on the fourth row 9/16" - fourth row down, the red/orange/translucent corkscrew Pee wees!
  6. Geez, I'm sorry Ann, I just now saw this! I'm sorry, I don't. I'll keep an eye out for you though They are very difficult to find, I did have an extra about 7 years ago that I traded for a nice sized blue on blue. I haven't found any since.
  7. Ann - me too! This Akro has a deep blue transparent base
  8. Lol I played with the marbles for keeps as well, wish I still had them. Here is another style that I like to collect when I come across them, a sky blue base with a thick yellow corkscrew and a thinner black cork with some oxblood I believe, running through it. 1"
  9. I found a pink in my marbles! This is a very challenging Color of the Month. I was told this type of marble is dipped in oil dyes floated on top of water. It's in pretty bad shape, but it's pink! (Whoops! It's still March dang it ....)

    Agates

Wow!!! I love those reptilian agates! Especially that snake!
  11. I thought so too Steph I remember seeing a post here a couple years ago (lol) about a certain type of Akro that had similar colors, but I think it required more tan than that one has. It's been a while, and I don't remember the name of them. Oh well, I like it it's Akro. Here's a different Akro corkscrew. I suppose this is some sort of experiment, maybe trying a bunch of colors together? Who knows
  12. These two groups are both beat up pretty bad, I haven't found one yet in decent condition. I've collected them all separately over the years, they caught my eye, and I scoop em up every time I see one. Both groups have a deep red transparent base with a thick black corkscrew and yellow corkscrew. I have no idea where they fall in the Akro line and I don't know if the damage is from play or maybe there were discarded at the factory or something else entirely. 3/4" Anybody else deliberately collect the beat up ones?
  13. I would love to see that Darla , I like the unusual colors This Akro is a very pale blue with a red and white cork, I'm not sure if that tan color is a mixture of the colors.
  14. I'm really not too sure. I have it with my unusual Akro colors
  15. two more orange corks, trying to get a few more in before the end of the month!
  16. Well, it's beautiful, I've always loved that green base in those pelts.
  17. Nice! Is that a dragon? Or a flaming dragon? I don't know Pelts very well, I guess I should start there..... Is that a Pelt ?
  18. I guess it's entire cork of blended? Usually I only see a little bit of grayish where colors have blended, but this seems to be an entire stripe of it. I thought it was interesting anyway, thought I'd share
  19. Two shooters to go with that group of egg yolks above
  20. Thanks Darla ! The price sounds about right lol I have a mad Pelt also
  21. This guy is pretty beat up, but I really like him, a skinny orange cork sunken into a red base that is a bright cherry red when back lit
