  1. I took this photo probably seven years ago now, she used to like to sit with me while I took pics of marbles, she never bothered them, just liked to watch. She was the coolest cat, came down from Alaska with me 16 years ago.
  2. Green Snake - Akro Agate It's Friday!!
  3. I saw the tornados on the news this morning, scary! Hope all is well Ann
  4. I Googled crazy inventions from the 1920s looking for background shots and this came up. It's some sort of enhanced hearing mechanism from the 40's, the title of the photo was "before radar 1940s"
  5. Random... It's almost Friday .... I can hear it coming.....
  6. Thanks for the kind words kbob I'm having too much fun now, I have a new hobby that INCLUDES my marbles. Can't get much better than that. hsssssss!
  7. Lol! I remember that dancing banana, doesn't seem like it was that long ago. I thought there was one too, that was scratching his head with a confused look on his face, that's one I related to the most lol
  8. Cool , can't wait to see it, a non-Akro cork? I'm really enjoying taking and making these photos, it's great to share with people, sometimes I feel like I'm being selfish that only I get to see these marbles lol. Here's another one I did last night. Orange Ace - Akro Agate. Thanks!
  9. That always makes me think of the evil cartoon character "Curses! Foiled again!" It was a perfect day for marble sighting, I found this huge one suspended under the Arc de Triomphe in the City of Love Lol
  10. Uh oh, I seem to have stepped into something, I really just wanted to share and see photos. The Yellow and Blue is a guess on my part that they are same run, just from the patterns that I've marked ( I have more angles, but can't find the photos right now, and don't have the equipment to take the pics), I honestly don't remember if I received these two together. The Blue and Green however, I'm confident are same run, that is based on Alan's opinion, and I'll pretty much follow that blindly Nothing technical about my marble collecting or photos, I enjoy the beauty of them and marvel at the depth of knowledge that is gathered here on this web site. -Jess
  11. Here are two sets of Same Run Akros Blue/Yellow Blue/Green Thanks! -Jess
  12. Hello everyone, I’m Jessica (Jess), I’ve been around here for a few years, mostly just stalking the page, popping in and checking out the pictures lol! I collect almost strictly Akro, but have a couple I’ve collected of other machine makers and handmades. I started collecting about 12 years ago when I came across a box of marbles at an estate sale and was curious about them, little did I know what I was getting into :\ I found this page and have been hooked since. The photo was taken last summer, my brother took me on a nice trip for my 40th birthday. -Jess
  13. Hi Amber I'm from Alaska as well, but I've been living in Florida for the past 16 years. Hope you're learning and identifying !
  14. No worries! I didn't take it the wrong way at all, it takes a lot to ruffle my feathers and thank you for the compliment. It definitely gives me a reason to break out the Photoshop that I've had since last December and learn it. Looks like it could be fun...
  15. Marble mail! Was very excited to get this in my mailbox this morning
  16. I get it now lol, I didn't even think about composition. Here is my first attempt
  17. Hi Bob, I do enjoy other Akro items, but I really only purchase them if I find them out in the wild, it's more of a special item to me then. I think I have two ash trays, and a small planter box (I think). The small box has the Akro stamped backwards on the bottom, I was pretty excited about that. About this marble calendar page, I wasn't sure if there were guidelines to follow, I just recently started taking more photos and wanted to share, hope I'm doing that in the right place -Jessica
