Stefan
I like this kind of music! Do you know the song shoot him down by alice francis? I would drop a link but thanks to a institution called GEMA, we germans are not allowed to watch this video on youtube -.-
Steph
I hadn't heard of it. But I'm listening to it now. ooh, the lyrics are a little dark for me. I'm a Pollyanna kinda girl most days. p.s., now I hear "shoot you down" somewhere in the lyrics of Gimme That Swing, but mostly I can't make the lyrics out except for the chorus. I just like the tune.

kbobam
The Alice Francis was great. Really enjoyed the 'underground video' style along with the music. And the Pink Martini was wonderful. My knowledge of French only got me as far as the title. But it was enough to love the rest of it. For some reason this reminds me of a cartoon I once saw in a 'New Yorker' magazine. It showed a movie screen in a theater, with a couple in a passionate embrace. The caption to the cartoon, giving the audio, was in French, but I loosely translated it to something like "Your skin is like alabaster, Your lips are the petals of the rose, Your hair is as the autumn wheat, And your eyes are like opals speckled with gold." The English sub-title on the screen was "I think you're rather pretty!"

kbobam
Looks like the technique works and it didn't go wrong at all! Thanks for filling in the details. Interesting that in English it ended with a perfect poetic rhyme. (feet/complete)
