Steph
Someone woke me up early this morning. This marble makes it worth it.
kbobam
It's much more interesting than those with perfect symmetry! ( :
kbobam
Like the case a lot, even though I only have an inkling as to what it is. If the picture exists because it was for sale, I'm not sure I want to know how much it went for. Thinking in terms of my old pickup truck, I'm going to guess somewhere between 10 and 100 of them. Steph
It's an Akro salesman sample case from the early 1930's. It was featured in another thread, not from a sale site.

kbobam
Spent a little while trying to think why I chose these marbles for the photo. My best speculation is the varying degree of UV reaction. The Vaseline marble is like the Fourth of July. The other Coke marble is middle of the road. Certain areas become more emphasized, and interestingly, part of that dark line that leads upward toward the first 'a' actually disappears. The smallest marble appears on the surface (figuratively/literally) to show no reaction at all, but since the white area isn't purplish, I'm assuming (uh-oh!) that at least a little something is going on. Steph
I figured they probably all had decent glow. But the brightest one is so bright the camera doesn't pick up the light from the other. I sold quite a few fluorescent marbles for awhile and I got pretty good at finding which colors and light levels might camera would pick up. I'd sell bright lots and sorta bright lots and medium bright lots. Some of blue glowers or multicolor glowers look quite nice on their own but they get drowned out by the strong vaseline glass. kbobam
This is one of the greatest marbles I've ever seen. And the photos are just amazing. They show the complex detail all the way through, with a beautiful three-dimensional feel. ( :
