Steph
My first make-out session was under a meteor shower. We lived just past the far edge of a suburb, so it was good viewing. Didn't know the meteor shower was going to happen. Nice surprise. Now I live next to an overcast lake. Would have to drive a ways to find a cow pasture to trespass on. ann
Not holding out any hope here in Chicago. When I lived in Cleveland, we'd sometimes drive to this isolated campground near Chautauqua, NY, for the Persieds. Most of the camping sites there were in the woods ringing a large, rolling, open meadow. Sometimes the lightning bugs were floating around too. Died-and-went-to- heaven kinda thing. ann
No lightning bugs in your neck of the woods? I'm sorry to hear that . . .
lstmmrbls
None of them in California. Fall evenings in the woods just are not quite right with out lightning bugs
kbobam
Nuts. Managed to stay up tonight until midnight trying to get even some sort of meteor photo, but unfortunately I 'got nothing'. Never even saw one 'by eye', but figured it was worth seeing if maybe the camera might pick up one I couldn't easily see. But I'm not giving up! One of these days I'll thrill you with a 'white line on black canvas' if it kills me!
bumblebee
We saw five or six nice streaks, even in the brightly lit California suburbs .
