Steph
Anyone wanna share pix of Akro Moonies or CAC Moons? Here's an older thread with some examples ... http://marbleconnection.com/topic/19957-christensen-agate-moons-box/ Would be cool to update and show more variety. Picture-taking has come a long way. Steph
Okay! Then someone get us started! MY picture taking has NOT come all that far! I'm still way behind. And my marbles are still covered up with moving boxes. And I definitely do not have a CAC Moon to try to show off the particular CAC features. Steph
Akro Moonies -- I think pre-fish-eye
budwas
I have three, the smallest is 5/8" and the biggest is 13/16" I'm not sure of the maker but the small and large one have a tunnel thru them that is clearer than the outside glass. The middle one has more of a dipper fold to it.

Steph
The first and third Akro Fisheyes!! And there's the glow.
Steph
Note: a. I can't remember if CAC's are supposed to have glow b. Having the glow doesn't automatically make a white marble one of the more valuable ones
budwas
Thinking I'll put one up on the support auction. What ya think Steph?
Steph
I think you'll be sad if you say goodbye to one of your two fisheye moonies. You should keep 'em, for your well-rounded collection. Serious answer.
budwas
Lol, your a good friend Steph! I did have a serious case of sellers remorse after the alley pink lady that Paul ended up with. But I'm glad he got it!
Steph
I need to see a CAC Moon close up. Or find someone who is a genius at taking pictures and can capture the CAC characteristics in a photos. Well, this photo Bob posted in that other thread does show some nice CAC action. BobBlock
CACs glow. I have the original box with those posted in the last post packed away somewhere
Steph
I _see_ the glow there. I don't know why this is so hard for me to remember. Maybe it will stick now. That circular action in the close up is very nice to see. Nice contrast to the marbles from, for example, Champion (I think) which are a cloudy white and have a glow but have a wadded up swirly action inside. hdesousa
I bought this box many moons ago. These moons don't glow.
Steph
Interesting. Do they seem definitely Akro ... as opposed to say Master Cloudys? Edit: oh, never mind .... that's not an Akro box!
hdesousa
Two groups of moonies on eBay. All peewees. The second seller has at least 6 lots of 25 each. Are they new?? http://www.ebay.com/itm/30-Little-PeeWee-Moonie-Style-Marbles-all-Translucent-White-with-Good-Fire/252826165542 http://www.ebay.com/itm/361927518871
Steph
Trying to see if the white ones are a swirl structure or two-seamers. In spite of some ambiguity, I'm gonna guess two-seamers. And with that I say they are modern Marble Kings. I can't remember if I have any white modern Marble Kings, but I do have pinks. Small ones. Edit: if the whites are swirly then obviously not MK, but swirly would make them more likely to be Champs.
J_Ding
I've got about two dozen of these, different sizes, and differing degrees of opalescence. I have no idea what is going on with these. At least no reliable idea.
marboman
I'm getting in on this cause I have a pair of moonies in this picture one is a corkscrew. They are probably not that rare, both opalescent, no flourescents. Cool thread

Steph
I'd call the blue an "Ace". That was Akro's opalescent base corkscrew offering. The color I most often see for an Ace is the black ribbon. I think the orange ribbon maybe second. I don't often see blue ribbon ones with the fire identified inside. So congrats on that one. J_Ding
The double ribbon on that Ace is a bonus.
