Tonight I saw a translucent based marble which I really wanted to turn out to be a found-in-the-wild Honey Onyx, but I didn't want to give the owner too much hope about it being one of that elusive type. It's on the small side, less than 5/8", and I have been informed that Honey Onxyes are usually larger. I had been unaware of that. westcoast_dave Posted March 22, 2018 Report Share Posted March 22, 2018 +1, not a honey onyx. A tip on identifying one is that the Honey Onyx's patch is not opaque, but see-thru or transparent/clear. The range of variation i've seen on the honey onyx is only on the orange color of the patch, some are a darker shade of orange. No variation on the size as far as i know, 23/32"+ is the typical size that I'm aware of. Would be neat to see a larger one, if anyone has one.
