I'llhavethat1
Pretty sure it needs to be on a Peltier Peerless Patch, and a certain size (among other things) to be legit.

akroorka
I will stand up for sure with my most humble opinion. When in doubt, ask for more images and do more research. This marble looks like a Marble King to me and I agree that it should be a Pelt Peerless patch. I just hope that you passed on it. I am not an expert on this type, let it be known. Too Rare---to care--not too much at least, if I ever find one I would most likely sell it---this is one of those that I just do not get---collection wise. Marble--On!! Chad G.
100% repro, Cotes MASTER LOAF was on an opaque white based PPP patch, there may be others on different base colors out there but I haven't seen them. The real comics and ad marbles are graphite stamped directly onto the glass w/ a thin coat of clear over it, you will be unable to scrape it off w/ your thumbnail unlike the repros which are cheap screen-prints that can be scraped off w/ a little effort. The repros are generally on the wrong sized mibs & the pic is always a little off (the SKEEZIX is exact though), many near or over 3/4" mark. I have yet to see a repro on a PPP but I can see the day coming especially since the Cotes & Tom Mix are so high dollar. I see the repros online all the time, they sell them in full sets as well with several that were never on Pelt mibs like "Mutt" &"Popeye" etc.... I think there's one Tom Mix on Ebay and Old nurse (Kathy Klatte) had a Cotes on consignment for a while, I believe it sold because I just looked & it's not there anymore. If it's not a PPP it's not a Pelt. comic or one of the 2 ad marbles. (Cotes & Tom Mix were ad marbles, the others were from popular Syndicate comic Characters of the day)Yes" I know some thief will be printing them on PPP's someday but I haven't seen one "yet" Just a side note, the set I have looks like it came off the rollers yesterday, I had to go through many comics to get the "wet mint" set I have now. Usually around couple grand $$ for a mint example of the Tom Mix or the Cotes !!
