jameswymer
I believe it to be Akro and I do feel it is oxblood. I wanted to hear other opinions. Thanks everyone.

The ox is totally opaque, it can be externally or internally to the marble, but always opaque. Yours, is a translucent red...

akroorka
jameswymer, Once that you get the Oxblood ID in your head, you will never forget it--ever. Fire1981
Akro was the first to make Oxblood. If I’m wrong I’ll be interested to hear who made it before they did. Are Bricks attached to a type of Oxblood ?

akroorka
Imho, Oxblood is probably as old as glass is. Akro just perfected it. Marble--On!!!
Fire1981
Didn’t other factory workers try to work for Akro and try to steal the Oxblood formula ? I can’t remember his name at Akro that created this formula but I thinks it’s J.C. Fields.
Fire1981
I’m sure it’s not W.C Fields

wvrons
It came off of the front, of a very old hotel in CO. Dave Becker took it off for part of one day with permission from the remodel contractor. Then the next day the contractor made Dave stop. I think the rest went to the landfill. It was in two feet by four feet sheets. Sammy made some marbles with it. Every ounce of it struck on the marbles. When Dave first seen it, he called me and sent me pictures of it on the building, to confirm it was Vitrolite. This was the first true Vitrolite oxblood I had ever seen. Dave managed to save some of it and shared it with a few friends.
