Nice ...just when I think nooooo that's not an Alley..lol...

Iโ€™m not completely confident on yours being a strawberry shortcake, I was just thinking it could be a possibility with its similar look. ย I would say the few SS cakes we have, they are very distinct in hand. ย Letโ€™s see what everyone thinks.ย

@Ricย ย  Hereโ€™s some better pics of the marble I posted above. ย Better lighting this time. ย 11/16

What a difference a photo makes - this looks way closer!

I know, I saw the earlier photo and thought, "this doesn't look like the marble I thought was a strawberry shortcake". And these other photos now very much look like a SSC. I don't see how it's the same marble, the brown is gone in the recent photos. If it is, it sure does establish a great example of how important it is for a photo to properly represent the marble when asking for ID.ย

@cheeseย I can 100% insure you itโ€™s the same marble. ย Iโ€™ve added another picture of this SCC from a different distance to show the brown wooden plate I took the first picture from. ย The brown background with poor light really makes things look different!!!!

@VaMarblesย It can be a challenge but its important to make sure the photos accurately represent the marble in hand, especially for ID purposes - you can see its the same marble, its just just remarkable how different it looks in the two different settings. I think you'll have to decide if it might be (photos 2) or if its not (photos 1 & 3) a SSC. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

@Tommyย If yours had more brown on it I would be more comfortable calling it a Strawberry Shortcake. But its a great Alley - maybe more related to the corals. Can you imagine changing that white base to transparent green? Wow.

LOL Tommy--I do not keep track of were our members are from very well.

Yours here does not show brown. The red is stretched over the white to make it look yellow or brown.

It is simply, a very nice Alley agate swirl--no names from me.

As for the second one from VAmarbles?

Natural sunlight is the key to many ID's

Marble--On!!
