I appreciate all opinions here. Most importantly--the rust. I Like to call these “Coffee Can Marbles”. The discoloration is in fact rust residue. It could be from the bottom of a fish tank(which more than likely would include some other polution or stain) but more than likely this one was stored in a can somewhere that collected a bit of moisture—it was near the bottom of the can. You can leave it as it is or try to bring it back—both are cool imho. I use this type of product—always use it wet and a tiny bit at a time. Look for the finest grit that you can find. One of these little cups is all that you need for hundreds of rust-stained marbles. It is used on my shiny teeth at the Dentist office—why not a marble? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00Z7J0SL0?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_1 Good luck and Marble—On!! 1

Fire1981
CLR ,a wet cotton wash cloth and a tooth brush. Metal on glass doesn’t cut it for me. 🔥 RAR
cheese
Fine #0000 steel wool is how I remove these rust marks. I think the marble is Alley. Similar to a certain Heaton type but busier IMO. It's not going to hurt the glass, it's a tool even professional window cleaners use. 1
