Ive_lost_my_marbles
Found this in my family marbles. I have done extensive research and have come to the conclusion that this very well may be a CAC "Sunset" swirl with Lutz. I've ruled out everything else. Did I find a unicorn or am I wrong? *sits anxiously waiting for a response*
Ric
My first thought is that CAC Sunset Swirls with Lutz are as real as unicorns. Beyond that, I would want to see photos of any seams (where the red and white meets up on the left and right of your first photo) before I would attempt and ID.
Ive_lost_my_marbles
Here ya go. I added what I think is the coolest part of the marble.
Ric
This appears to be a common Peltier Rainbo that some folks might call a Sunset.
Alan
Looks like a common Pelt. Point out the "lutz".
Ive_lost_my_marbles
Thank you. I guess I ruled out Peltier because the Lutz is so dense and the sunset so detailed (from what I've seen). It feels elevated to me. Could it be from a special series?

This statement says it all as far as I am concerned. Many collectors new to this weird collectable mistake that we all have made--collecting marbles, will mistake small bubbles for "Aventurine" or AV (the term "lutz" is reserved for hand made marbles). Yours is a rather nice Peltier Rainbo. No Unicorn here my marble collectiing friend. I feel your excitement and love it but I am glad that you asked. Marble--On!! These marbles were made by the boxcar. There really weren't any special runs that i know of, although some may have fortuitously turned out better than others. Here is a good example of Lutz that Chad posted - it looks like flaky gold. There is none on your marble.

I have yet to come across one like this with so many tiny bubbles and an actual sunset on the horizon. It seems more artistic and precise than others I've seen online The more I learn about marbles and their collector community, the more I realize that the study of marbles is never-ending, the artistry and pricing are completely subjective, and unfortunately, there are a lot of rude people. My excitement continues to grow in part due to others who are patient and willing to educate. It really is beautiful, and I could look at the sparkle all day. I guess it's just the light catching the dense bubbles, but I also see rectangular inclusions. Am I trippin?
Fire1981
Yes you are. That’s just a bit of the ribbon that got burnt when it hit the surface glass. It’s the bubbles that make Sunsets so cool. If you 30x loupe the matrix you might see some Space Crud in there. Example: a little piece of kiln brick that didn’t blow it up and end up in the pit. This one is a border line red/white Cross Thru🔥 RAR

TheVacorFan
That's a cool Peltier, but no Lutz. I think you may be mistaking the orange-ish colour combined with the bubbles for Lutz. It looks a bit like glitter and is almost gold in colour, surely that must be Lutz? No, it's not. It may create a similar effect, but it's far different from actual Lutz (copper or goldstone). When you get more experienced with real Lutz and AV, you'll be able to discern them from any look-alike-effects. It's quite a process, but you'll get it down eventually

Rudeness is discouraged, now saying that there are many higher educated folks that post here and the speak is different than the talk that you and I may be used to. Just deal with it and become more accustomed to the different folks that post here. There are high dollar and low dollar collectors here and all are welcomed as are the opinions that they give. I enjoy them all—unless rudeness is determined by the moderators here. We are all here to connect with marbles and some of us older farts may get a bit cranky from time to time. I am cranky today, but I edit my posts in a word processor before I post most of them—the trouble is this new AI thing always wants me to talk a different way—I refuse—I like my talk. Marble—On!
